Using liquid metal for enhanced heat dissapitation , same tech used on nuclear reactors.
Modified for cpus, very interesting.

I guess it was only a matter of time till extreme cooling went in this direction...I mean...if it's good enough for a nuclear reactor...why not an Intel cooker....I mean...cpu...right?

This will be great for grafix cards as well.
THey mentioned being able to remove the need for fans with these, so power consumption will drop plus noise level will drop this is great tech.

I recently read theres a new tech being developed that will allow a layer of cooling on the die iteself... if I remember correctly... somethign about allowing for a fluid to flow thru the processor core thereby decreasing heat tremendously. There is also another article I recently read about convectional cooling, whereby instead of a solid Cu slab u have a liquid metal that flows via its own convection generated by the heating of the liquid at the base of (or top of the cpu core) cooler and cooling at the top (with heatfins of course) I can't remember if it was Vantec or coolermaster or one of those companies that's patented the design and should start producing them soon. Imagine that, NO NOISE, NO POWER REQ'D great cooling via Liquid metal. The prescott will have some hope yet :p sorry crixx I jus couldn't help that one.

Anyways that sounds like it will work nicely in conjunction with the liquid metal cooling.
