Don't you have to open the packaging to see this? Is there a way to identify this on the actual box so that you can find one in a retail store?

Yes there is, the bar code and s/n are usually visible through the box. Based on the serial you can tell the revision of the hardware.

This time I didn't get a red ring, I started getting corrupt graphics and then it stopped outputting to the TV no matter what cables I use. I assume that means a gpu problem?

I dunno if MS covers that...

They do not (at least not for free)
the free repair is RROD only.

Nah man, shipping will be about 400TT (my latest Xbox I got via skybox). As for the sabotage part, I suggest trying the *wrap in a towel 'fix'* it should RROD eventually!

No I did not pay duty on the first one I brought down when I travelled. The second one came through my skybox, customs checked the box unfortunately.

Aye peeps..just came ot me as an idea. Im not all that tech inclined so forgive any stupid mistakes or assumptions of mine. Is it possible ot use a program such as hamachi to set up a VPN to give yourself a US ip address to download the gears 2 maps?
