no way...the new timesplitters:  future imperfect was the bomb....Killzone didn't do anything for me.  The thing I liked about ts/fi is that it has a lot of stuff for everybody....multiplayer is where the fun lies.
I'd believe u if you were right.

TrinithereturnofGam if you didnt realise by now. A FPS single player game only compelling for storyline. 51 is a lame game, end of story, put that with DOOM 3 as well.

good points

but I must admit, I play FPS for multiplayer moreso than storyline.

I've never completed doom3, quake, sof2, unreal or any other FPS with a single player component in recent history with the lone exception of Half Life 1 and 2.

RPGs on the other hand....(drools)

Story immc

PREY?

I have FEAR and STALKER on the radar but not PREY.

From the makers of Duke Nukem no less??

TELL ME MORE.

* [X]-Baego runs to google.

OK, I check it out

Looking like Doom 3 Part Deus

(understandable, since it runs on the Doom 3 engine)

Sounds like an interesting enough game, running on walls, spirit walking and other "innovations". I use the term loosely, since these things have been done before yet the developers don't seem to be aware of that fact. lol

* [X]-Baego scribbles PREY on the radar.

I beg to differ , Gameplay is what makes or breaks any FPS game , story is just the icing on the cake , look at Halo... lame  story ( in my opinion) , but solid presentation and gameplay, whereas for Half life or KOTOR i play them through from beginning to end each time , with Halo i just go to my favourite level and blast away  .
Doom 3 on the other hand HAD A story , the basic plot was nothing new , aliens from hell trying to destroy mankind  , but each twist of the plot   was quite good , the thing that killed doom was GAMEPLAY :  basically wander around in dark corriders , try not to get lost, and shoot anything in your path  That is what stole the drive from the game , not the story .
Also , don't forget the Medal of Honour and Call of Duty games for the Ps2.... most of them are pretty good .

gameplay is the flex.

I long for a FPS where you can do truly cool stuff that are "seen" if not by you, by your comrades.

I always remember doing back flips in Quake 3 with my Xaero skin. You heard the sound effect, though you couldn't see yourself doing it. Your opponents and comrades would see you doing these cool aerials and it just added to the atmosphere of the game.

Give me an FPS where I can go all out bionic commando, cling to walls, pole vault, dive roll, the works. Skate tackle and all. Quick flicks to 3rd person view for such events would be welcome.

Just pointing and shooting is so passe'

I've heard good things about the Unreal 2 championship and it may be a step in this direction. Haven't fired it up yet.

Will soon.

I'd say it is a matter of opinion. You have to take into account, the nature of the gamer.

Replayability is not a big selling point in some genres for some people. RPGs come to mine. Wheras it the major selling point for others. (RTS)

More often than not, replayability is a by-product of gameplay and multiplayer moreso than story. A few RPGs have tried to score replay points by allowing you to run through the game with different characters or providing multiple endings. How succesful those have been is another debate altogether.

It may be a matter of opinion, but I won't play Half Life twice because it had a sweet story. Once is good enough.

However, I will play the Half Life multiplayer component again and again if the gameplay is hot.

If it has an online component for multiplay, I will even pony up the cash to get in on that action. Story not required.

As an example, months ago I bought Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War because it had great gameplay and graphics. To this day, I have yet to play through the campaign but have played over 400 multiplayer games.

Gameplay won my money in that instance, not story.
