Well just saw the add tonight on comedy central.

Interesting.

I remember de last snk 3d fighter. fatal fury 3d. wasnt completly horrible, but not a game that lived on in the halllowed halls of gaming.


From what i heard on the comercial

2d gameplay
3d animation


so maybe kof style game play is maintained. No moving into the fore or backgrounds so dont have to worry bout chasing an opponent around a 3d plane trying to connect with projectiles and long range physical moves.

But the glamourous look of a 3d game.

n00bs what joy they bring to the world.

This game is actually good. Speed is about as fast ( if not faster) than SFEX3. There is a button mashing dial a combo element to it but it's limited to about 5 or 6 hits. There is also a Wall , off of which opponents can bounce to continue combos. Depending on how your opponents bounce off the wall they can switch planes so to speak. Thus bringing the 3d element into play. Oh and unlike other KOF games its not team based.

This game looks to be far beyond the completly horrific ex series.(which i still disown as a street fighter game,bleh)

THis game doesnt insult us with lame 2.5 d(not fully 3d not fully 2d)

as i said, no movement into fore and backgrounds, so 2d game play is preserved.

ex doesnt even LOOK good , to justify the departure from solely 2d game play.

So once again, bleh to the ex series.

you gotta remember Street fighter EX3 was one of the first five games on the PS2. the developers were not familiar with the hardware as yet. and honestly what is there to complain about graphics-wise?

We have EVERYTHING to complain about apparently.

We HAVE to remember that GRAPHICS makes a game and not GAMEPLAY.  Why would I want good gameplay out of a shoddy looking graphics engine?  Also, you could look at what has changed in each part of the series to make it stand out from its predecessor.

EX1 had super cancelling.
EX2 kept this and added more characters and excel combos.
EX3 Removed the excels, put in momentaries, tag combos, tag meteors etc.

Just by looking at this we IMMEDIATELY know that EX sucks.  Why wouldn't it suck?  I mean its too hard for some people to grasp competitive play and all.

As I said before, blatant sarcasm aside, its your turn KoF people.  There will be a sect of people to dislike it whether you like it or not.

Reading this post again makes me realize something stupid you said that I didn't pick up on.  Since when could you sidestep in any of the EX series?  

Akuma had a teleport in 1.  It was a teleport(its supposed to avoid projectiles.)
Kairi had one in EX2.  Again, a teleportation move.  Since when did ANY of the ex series move from 2D Gameplay?

More proof that you barely played the game and that the comments you have made are solely out of ignorance.

na imperial is not always graphics especially in terms of fightin games..tink bout how much men does stillsweat hyper fightin for no apparent reason...it depends. it had a kinda 3d fatal fury dat real suffer, same ting wit samurai 64. de graphics does d initial work but d game itself still hadda be good.
i remeber i wasnt drawn to svc chaos at first cause it ugly but after a while it start to become a good sweat

I was being sarcastic.  SvC looks like garbage to me and I still think it is.  I've played it as of recently giving it another chance but I've seriously come to not care anymore.  I think there are better games to spend your time on as a serious fighting game player.

Ok, so having played this I'll give a few quick comments.

The graphics aren't that great.  For a 3d fighter so late in the ps2 era, they could have done MUCH better.  Though graphics maketh not games.

As far as I see it, the gameplay is 3d.  You CAN SIDESTEP both toward and away from the screen.  This makes using projectiles almost useless.

Gameplaywise, I think stuff is too easy.  All I did was pretty much do some combo string up to a point and then cancel it into a special or super for moderate to sometimes heavy damage.  That's another thing that irritates me though.  You can practically cancel ANY normal in this game into a special or super.  That's what I found lackluster.  It took practically little to no effort to become stylish at this game.

The music is great.  I actually had fun listening to the score of that Ruins stage as well as some other levels available.  It reminded me of the BGM of a level I can't remember in EX2 though.  Regardless, it was well done.  Take it from me as a musician, or else I'll keep it from you like an idiot.  (HAHA!!!)

All in all, not a bad game per se, but there are better ways to spend your time.  Like jaywalking etc.  
Yes Mai is still bouncy and whatever but still, no.  I have good news though.  Apart from saving a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico, this game plays better than DOA BY FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
