This is the game to replace Warcraft at the sweats, this is the game  to play till 1 in the morning , this is THE GAME!
 GREAT graphics, original gameplay, good storyline . Blood gore , orcs, aliens , its almost the PERFECT strategy game! It resembles Ground Control II a bit in that you don't mine resources and have to hold strategic points , but you still build bases  and have a population cap .  Try the demo! all RTS fans will love it .

the game bad, mad, rad, glad, yuh dad.

It's been a while since a RTS came along that can even dare fill the shoes of the void left by Starcraft.

This is it. Ain't seeing anything else on the radar that could approximate. War Hammer iwmc.

The intro alone bad enough to be worth the 300mb download for the demo. Plus the game gone gold. So in 1 - 2 weeks, is full version to craw.

I done inundate de gatt chat and mailing list with rants, but alyuh gonna get more here.

This game (I think) is one of the best RTS games of this century. NO! Not one of the best, but the best of this century!!

It includes 4 incredibly powerful armies which are the Spacemarines, Eldar, Chaos and Orks. There are loads of action packed single and multiplayer missions in which you command your army to lead them to victory.

This game also includes brilliant graphics and visual effects which takes you to the heart of the battle. You don't have to collect resources in this game, you have to impress the people who are in command to get more ellite units. With the new AI technology, your men (or aliens) will act independabley in battle which makes for some stunning visual effectslike a Spacemarine gutting an Ork and stuff like that.

The missions don't revolve around storming the enemies base and destroying all their buildings, you have to capture SP's (Strategic Points) to gain the tacticle advantage over the enemy. Then the people in command will give you more elite units to help protect the SP's that you've captured.

Those bastards come at you fast and furious but persistence saw them go down hard on the knee.

skirmish on hard against 1 AI is easy...... 2-3 is murder and a LONG game .  

  i want the full version bad!!!!  the orcs look like fun to play with.. especially the squiggoth ... my connections say the game hasn't gone gold .......  we still have time to wait .
   Half life 2 is just around the K0rner , Tribes vengeance, HAlo II,  2004 is a year for games!!!!

1 ai is eaasy ..... what you have to do is build  2-3 squads of scouts first thing and start capping points fast, as soon as barracks is up build the commander, and 3 squads of space marines .  That way you are set up to defend whatever points you capture .
   Set your units out on the field in positions so that they block the exits to the enemy base [after you kill most of the enemy on the field]  , research 'infiltrate'  on scouts or build a ghost , and spy on enemy base,  den mash den up with whirlwinds, and run all your units into the base .  
    Make it a priority to upgrade your strategic points ,  the upgraded points can be further upgraded with GUNs...... one gun position will take down  a couple squads by itself if supported by a unit or two . Upgraded points give more resources also....
   No air units man!  use the trench warfare style of play , lines of upgraded strategic points which you fall back to if you loose a battle [ which you will regurlarly ] always que up units to be built , use the squad with the research the 'word of the emporer' upgrade on the librarian and use his squad to lead your battle : once upgraded NO unit in the squad can die unless the librarian does .

I haven't tried infiltrating with scouts and I haven't tried "locking" down the enemy in his base.

Mainly because the field is so open ended in that 4 player map, I hardly ever have enough troops after winning a fight to progress at all. Can't lock them down if I only got a few marines and a half dead force commander.

Also, those guns damn expensive.

I've used the word of the emperor. That kicks ass, but keepin the librarian alive at that stage of the game is easier said than done. By that time the enemy has a librarian too and a few mechs up his sleeve.

What unit upgrades do you get?

I try going for marines with flame throwers early in squad 2. And Marines with Bolt in squad 3. Later  game I get Jet Pack marines on Squad 4 and Rocket Launcher Marines on Squad 5.

Haven't really used the Plasma weapon upgrades much.

The best luck I've had is grabbing the central Critical point, upgrading every mc to Bolt, and digging in with mass troops. I lasted about 5 minutes. Needed to last 7 minutes for the win. mcmcmcmc

bolters and missles mainly, missles allow you to take down the mechs fast . Tanks are expensive yeah, and you'll need 3-4 to have real effect ... Its best to build mechs till you can lockdown the enemy base , upgraded with the canon they can do some serious damage .  
     If your up against only 1 AI, you don't need the tanks, the bolters have enough range to take down buildings without exposing your units much, but multiple AI require you to keep you forces spread too thin to risk that .

ploy, good advice boy Trini.

I tried those guns, the turret and heavy turret upgrades and that worked.

Made for good fall back positions and that made enough of a difference to let me hold the critical point for 7 minutes. Hard marines with bolt, a few jet pack men, bout 8 snipers and a few rocket men and mechs late game. Victory immc.

btw, is total and utter ownage now. I used the mod on the demo to release the Orcs as a playable race and well cut dey arse in Skirmish.

rockets pluss  plasma cannon is the upgrades for marines!!

rockets make teh enemy fall and then plasma destroys armor

this is the first time that marines completely own base!

use the squad commander guys orbital blast thingy on enemy buildings and defenses
then line up two to 4 preds  at the back, 2 to 4 dread noughts to the middle and marines with rockets and plasma  in the front.

use good ole sarge to rally the troups as well as word of emperor dude and that other thing that the squady dude does
and yu have a nice band of crack invulnerable crack heads

I see everybody saying warhammer rell good .i haven't seen it yet so i cant say but a review from pc gamer said it wasnt so hot because it's AI isnt all that good and it has no lan support .
On the good side it has a good storyline good graphics make it a great budget game.

(There may have been some changes to the game since then because this review was from May)

  Thats called a PRE VIEW  man.... the game is totally mad , the AI isn't ground breaking but they are good , IT DOES HAVE LAN SUPPORT... probably the guy was playing some beta test demo ....  this game WILL replace warcraft and starcraft at the sweats , go dload the demo....  or read a review of the FINISHED game .
