MAC Address Communication Problem

I wanna get some feed back on this problem.

I have a Router, and i don't know the IP or Host name. It does not assign addresses via DHCP. I do however know it's MAC Address. What i would like to do, is connect my pc to the router, using the MAC to find the IP.

Im currently trying this with a MAC adress scanner called "aMac Adress Change" found http://amac.paqtool.com, but this scans an IP range. i have no idea what range the router's IP falls into. i intend to check the 192 + 169 ranges. but its gonna be time consuming

Does anyone have any ideas as to how else this can be done. such as one where i could just input the MAC, and get the IP?

Wow...that's a tough one...

Without the IP or DNS...you're in a real tough bind...

Is it a router for your ADSL service? If so then you may need to bite the bullet and try the helpdesk...

If not...hmmm...not sure what to tell you there... www.google.com is prolly your best bet.

Heh Heh Heh, It's my TSTT Speedstream 5200. So you know helpdesk service is basically non-existant. Did anyone try to register their modem at this site?

Pfffft...TSTT giving consumers discontinued hardware...won't be the first time that they sell the populace old stocks...
