Firefox has a few options that allow you to decide what JavaScript can
and can not do with windows or to disable it completely. These options
are available from  Tools > Options > Web Features > Advanced.

Also, there is an integrated JavaScript console to debug code on pages.
It is available from the the Tools menu. So you can visit the site
you're visiting and check the console as to what is wrong with the code.

If you write scripts a lot, you can install the
JavaScript Console Status at
http://www.cosmicat.com/extensions/scriptstatus/ or
http://extensionroom.mozdev.org/more-info/jsstatus
which displays an icon in the status bar whenever a JavaScript warning
or error occurs in a webpage. Clicking on the icon opens the JavaScript
Console.

Fellas,

I have just checked the archives and this is the longest email dry has
ever written bar none.

Feel honored.

To add some fire to the flame, myie2 has crashed on me several times,
whereas firefox hasn't (knock on pengo)

Again, I still use both since they're both freely available and don't
preclude the other. Firefox primary, myie2 secondary.

M4 and Shotgun, iymc

MYIE installs a JAVA environment? Does it also include the latest
Flash/Director plug-ins? serious questions btw, because you're making it
sound like everything is included and you never have to download
anything once you install MYIE.

I know IE doesn't come with JAVA installed, so you need to download
Sun's java. What about all those Macromedia downloads you have to do
with a fresh IE install? MYIE includes all that in it's installation, or
does it depend on an already pumped up IE installation?

Cliff notes:

What would happen if you install MYIE on a FRESH XP install? Do you get
JAVA, Flash, Director, etc, or do you need to download them separately?

talk to the I.

Ok I have not looked at Opera since I found MYIE. I will go look for it
ad check it out.

---but---

MYIE did not require you to go get extra pluggins to open pages and I
can't remember the last time I came across scripting errors as those in
IE or not opening as in Firefox...WEAK FIREFOX....unimpressive IE

not that I am a Ship's Captain for things Microsoft or derivatives of
it...but firefox is like sugar and water compared to the sweet Mauby
with aniseed essence of MYIE2
