Figured it was reporting the decompression rate as well as the download rate, which makes absolutely no sense and is very misleading. Bad origin.....bad.

Still, I'm willing to overlook that deception in the wake of TitanFall

Respawn confirms "We won't stop or ban legit copies," but warns the online experience could be sub-optimal.
by Eddie Makuch on March 7, 2014

If you're lucky enough to get your hands on a copy of Respawn Entertainment's highly anticipated multiplayer shooter Titanfall ahead of release next week, go ahead and play online as soon as you want. Respawn is not blocking or banning players with legitimate copies.

"About playing early: We won't stop or ban legit copies," Respawn cofounder Vince Zampella said on Twitter. "It is prelaunch, so there may be interruptions in service as we prep servers."

Titanfall officially launches March 11 for Xbox One and PC. An Xbox 360 version--developed externally at Bluepoint Games--will arrive on March 25. Respawn confirmed this week that the game's DLC season pass will include three expansion packs and sell for $25.

For more on Titanfall, be sure to check out GameSpot's interview with Zampella from our new show The Lobby below.

This is just a FYI. Would not recommend doing this, be safe and wait :)

http://segmentnext.com/2014/03/08/titanfall-pre-load-begun-users-already-playing-game-early/

With one of the most anticipated shooters of 2014; Titanfall, close at hand, players who have pre-ordered the game are already pre-loading it in their computers. And just a heads-up, it’s 50GB in total.

However, such massive titles do not always see a launch without different leaks whether it is in the form of leaked trailer or various exploits to play the game early.

Several users over the Reddit have confirmed playing the game early by incorporating a file titled ‘TitanfallEarly.exe’ in the game’s directory.

This should not come as a surprise as we have already seen such leaks with franchises like Call of Duty, Halo, and Battlefield.

Although some players have reported playing the game early, others have complained about not getting any servers or getting stuck at the loading screen.

When the issue was brought to the attention of Respawn Entertainment, this is what the producer of the game, Drew McCoy had to say:

Just so everyone is clear:

Manage to score a copy of the game before 11TH? Cool! Try and play it – servers (or other players!) may or may not be available when you try. Be patient! 
Streaming is not yet allowed. Sorry!
Using modified ‘.exes’ and mucking about in files to circumvent security measures is generally a big no-no.
In related news, Founder of Respawn Entertainment Vince Zampella confirmed on Twitter yesterday that anyone receiving legit copy of the game before other players will not get banned but might face some issues:

About playing early; we won’t stop or ban legit copies, it is prelaunch. So there may be interruptions in service as we prep servers.

Nothing can be said with utmost certainty about the PC version but people have reported not getting banned. In case, you want to give it a go, here’s how:

Download ‘TitanfallEarly.exe’ from this link and paste it in your game’s directory and you’ll be good to go! Although we wouldn’t recommend doing it just to remain on the safe side.
