Using blackberry social plan on an android phone

Hey guys, I just have a quick question.....have any of you guys ever tried using your sim card with a blackberry phone plan (for example the social plan) in a samsung galaxy s2 for example and still be able to use the social apps on it?

I'm not sure if the same goes for both networks now, but you can no longer do that with Digicel. I believe you will require different settings for data use when the network detects a non-BB handset.

Don't know about the social plan but my Galaxy Nexus was using the BlackBerry internet package for sometime.

When I took it in to get 4G, they mentioned it and asked if I wanted to switch to the Android internet package.

Not sure what's the technical difference between the two.

Maybe just a marketing gimmick.

Seeing as the Android worked just fine with the "BlackBerry" internet enabled SIM.

You could have gotten a cheaper 2 Gigabyte package if you stayed on the BB plan no?

You used to be able to use blackberry internet plans with any phone before (at least on bmobile). It has to do with how the internet and blackberry APNs are activated. So you could have used the $99 blackberry plan and gotten the same service as the $149 plan meant for other phones.
Apparently it's no longer possible to do this. I'm no longer actively involved in the industry so I really couldn't tell you the technical reason behind it, suffice to say it's legit.
