Flooding is no joke. Had to do cleanup at family house in Diego a few weeks ago. Water was up to the steering wheel :s

No pics yet, but installed a headunit yesterday and amp, both high end items for good quality sound audio. The aim was to accomplish good sound quality with warm and no to bright reproductions and maintain a good sound stage height and proper imaging. doors were deadened with stinger roadkill and stock speakers were reinstalled. The xtrail's stock speakers are AMAZING! crossed at 60hz, all i need is a sub for 50hz and lower. Tncase you guys were wondering, this is going be a sound quality install. Not hard pound. IF you were to hear this system now, I am almost sure you would say, " you dont need a sub for what you are trying to accomplish! "

The headunit of choice was the pioneer 9400bh with bluetooth audio, this was intentional for the bluetooth audio alone. Amp of choice is the sundown audio 100.4, which provides 160RMS to the front/rear speakers per side. That give us a total of 320RMS for midbass. Amp was bridged to power the front left and rear left as one channel and right front/right rear as another, leaving the last 2 channels to be bridged to power a sub that will be embedded into the trunks flooring. Going for a completely stock look here again.

Power wires for the carputer were ran into their places as well. A distribution block was installed in the engine bay to allow expansion for power. Then heat shrink was used for a stock finish. Time to start looking for a power inverter with a manual switch to it can be relayed to turn on with accessory 2 on the key.

More info and pics later!

Eagerly awaiting progress on this.

The more I think about it though, the more I see a tablet that docks in the car, running some flavour of android to be the winning formula here.

I'll call it the carblet (patent pending)

SSD power.

I must time how long various PC/OSs around my house takes to start yes.

I'm sure my desktop clocking around 12 - 15 with Windows 7.

Thing about the carblet (patent pending), it will be instant on / off.

Like an ipad.

Can't beat 0 boot up and 0 shut down. lol
