Ah see berzerk wireless charger and he make meh want one. EBay didnt disappoint, ordered one on the cheap for the Nexus to try it out. Havent gotten it yet. Hope it works ok.

In other news, Microsoft's YouTube app for Windows Phone reverts to a web link.

...now everybody knows that i'm not a fan of winmo but Google seems to just be on shit with this one. Leh the men get some youtube loving nah dred. Kicking ah man when he down, not cool, Google.

Yea, google getting on rel stupid with this one, MS had a polished sexy youtube app.
Google make them pull it from the store and claim MS breaking terms of services, and request MS remove ability to download, and enable adds. MS did both and re-released the app.

Google then claim MS needs to build the app in HTML5 and pull it again. and claim it's part of their terms of service.
MS say coding a native app in HTML5 is not just hard, but performance would suffer.

Google themselves don't use html5, and build the apps for android and iPhone using native code, but prohibits MS from using Native code to do their own youtube app, and google also refuses to build an app for MS.

So basically, google getting on rel nasty.
Wonder how they go like it if MS decide chrome cant run on any windows machine....

On the wireless note, yea, wireless charging is very convenient, my phone does usually always be close to full charge because of it. And having it in the car just so good.

Only thing I missing now, is when I go in d car, it automatically start to play my podcasts, but I see WP GDR3 coming out with a "driving mode" feature where u could tell it to do certain things based on what Bluetooth it's connected to. So when that release month end, gg.

Microsoft just step up their game with the "Developer" update program.

I put developer in quotea because its free for anyone to register, and you'' be able to get updates early.
I'm now running GDR3!

Changes:

Driving Mode. A new feature called Driving Mode works with a connected Bluetooth device to limit notifications on the lock screen—including texts, calls, and quick status alerts, Microsoft says—until you're safely parked. You can configure Driving Mode to send automatic replies to people who call or text while you're driving.

Mobile Accessibility. One of the big complaints about Windows Phone is that its accessibility features are decidedly lacking. With Update 3, Windows Phone 8 picks up a suite of apps called Mobile Accessibility that seek to improve this situation. Apps include a screen reader for blind and visually impaired as well as tools for the hearing-impaired that help with notifications like alarms, calendar events, and low-battery warnings.

Tethering improvements. The Internet Sharing feature in Windows Phone 8 is being updated to include a special pairing mode for use with particular PCs that uses Bluetooth to make the connection: No more manual entry of passwords.

Better ringtones. With Update 3, you can use custom ringtones for more events, including instant messages, emails, voicemails, and reminders. You can also configure custom ringtones for contacts for text messages. (Previously, you could only do so for phone calls.)

Screen rotate lock. Yep, you can now lock the screen rotation, just like a real smart device.

Improved storage management. While GDR2 added the ability to automatically manage "other" storage in the Phone Storage settings app, Update 3 now provides a new category view that shows exactly what apps and other items are using up that space.

Manually close an app. Now when you access the App Switcher multitasking screen (by pressing and holding on the Back button), you will be able to manually close an app using a large and obvious close ("X") button.

Wi-Fi access during Setup. In the current version of Windows Phone 8, you cannot connect to a Wi-Fi network during Setup, so you must have a cellular data connection to add a Microsoft account. With Update 3, Wi-Fi configuration occurs before this step, solving a major complaint, especially for those of us buying no-contract phones like the Lumia 520 where a cellular connection is not guaranteed.

Nokia today reported its Q3 2013 financial statement. The report was largely positive for Nokia group with $162 million profit from $7.79 billion revenue. $162 million profit may not sound huge, but its a huge improvement from last year same quarter when Nokia group reported a loss of €564 million. We just posted about the Lumia sales volumes here, Nokia sold about 8.8 million Lumias up from 7.4 million last quarter. Devices & Services Q3 net sales increased 6% quarter-on-quarter to EUR 2.9 billion, but it made a loss of about $160 million.

Overall, Nokia is in strong cash position than last few years. With the proposed sales of Devices and Services unit to Microsoft, Nokia group will be able to achieve higher profitability from NSN, HERE and others in the upcoming quarters.

Moto G vs Lumia 625



If you're reading Android Central, then the chances are you'd pick the Moto G hands down. And you wouldn't be wrong for doing so. Until handling the Moto G I was convinced that Nokia owned the budget smartphone category with a series of excellent devices that proved cheap didn't mean a below par experience. But Motorola may have just taken things to a whole new level. The display alone would be enough to differentiate the two if they were say side-by-side in a store. You won't be disappointed if you buy a Lumia 625, it's a fine phone that I like a lot, but the Moto G has more to offer.

The Moto G is hands down the best Android phone you can buy in this price range; you won't do better for this amount of money. And it might just be the best phone period that you can buy around £150 for some time.

Messiah, now order ah lumia 820 of my very own on ebay dey cheap cheap. $130us used. Gonna use it as my work beater to replace ah ole bb 8900 piece of crap.

Yeah boy, huge is not d word, it massive, I was waiting till i use it for ah while before posting, first impression is, it rel big lololol, it takes some getting used to. But day by day the size is growing on me.  Till the point now I saying..it huge! But in a good way. My typing went from having to look at the keyboard on the 920, to not having to look at it on d 1520. So as a result typing is much faster and more accurate and easier.

the screen is simply gorgeous , and I thought the 920 was epic in direct sunlight, but this phone make the 920 look normal in the sun, I don't know what Nokia did, but its the most amazing screen I've ever seen in sunlight, tested it and compared it on d beach with d 920 and note 3 yesterday. The note 3 was horrible, u could barely make out anything, 920 was good, but the colors does get skewed to pull off proper readability. The 1520 was showing normal normal, and prrerettttyyyy.....

The 920 was the best camera on a phone I've ever used, the 1520 made that camera look mediocre....some images taken with 1520 Friday......

Oh, and the device is fasssttt, I did nit think WP could have gotten any faster than it already was, but it can, and it has. Snappy 800 ftw. SD card slot already getting put to good use, only 20 of 64 free on that card lol. And the battery life ain't shabby either, but need to use it for s regular work day to properly gage that one.

all in all, I went from being intimidated by the size, and fumbling to get a handle on the device, to appreciating its size and getting used to how to hold and use it, to saying....Damn its huge, I'm officially in love with the 1520. Other phones feel ridiculously small when I go back to them, small in a bad way. I've been bitten with the phablet bug, there's no going back.

PS, this was all written on the 1520 and my surface sitting right next to me. It hardly get use at home since getting this device. When work start back in the new year I'll see how the 1520 does as a proper daily driver.

I bought a 920 for my mom for Christmas. Haven't used it much yet, but I like what I've seen so far. Everything runs really smoothly, the camera's really good, and the build quality of the phone itself is superb. It'll still be a cold day in hell before I switch completely from Android, but I can myself having one as a secondary phone.
