The director said that Mario wasn't in the movie because they couldn't fit him into the plot. The fix it felix Jr game is based on donkey kong though.

As an old arcade gamer, this movie was nostalgia galore.

Loved every second. Stayed through the credits (much to the chagrin of my family)

Epic movie

Agreed they took a bit of a childish route with the second half of the film but as a family man, I'm willing to let that slide. My kids were rooted to their chairs the entire time.
