...and now that I've played it some more...I remember all the things that I don't like...

* Little to no penalty for movement vs shooting.  Men doing all kinda acrobatics and still killing yuh.
Madd hopping and diving is again the order of the day.

* You can't reload while you're running.....unbelievable.

* Atrociously large hitboxes, as evidenced by killcams and final-killcams.  You really need to see it to believe it.

* No server browser, so I consistently get put into matches where my 'bars' are lower than everyone else's.  Do the math.
Hmmm...shades of IWNet all over again.  Aren't we good enough to see actual ping numbers, Treyarch?

* Don't count on trying to return fire if you're being hit...just run away, or look for cover.

* I can't get two steps without some drone, or trip-mine, or airstrike blowing me the f*** up.
That gets old...fast.  My swear-jar currently runneth over.  :laughing7:

Now I'm not knocking the game here per se, but these are some of (a growing list of) the things that really grinds my gears
about the gameplay.  Boy do I miss that suppression mechanic.  That, and a greater move/fire penalty would do WONDERS for
the gameplay...but that's my brain still operating in Battlefield mode.  The difference in gameplay is really jarring.

*sigh*

If you're getting the impression that I'm not having such a grand time with the game, then you might be right.
The whole experience thus far feels inferior...but that's just my opinion, so 'doh geh wax'. {(c) Ian Alleyne} :laughing7:
I was hoping that this title would make me a fan of CoD again, but sadly, the more I play it, the more I'm turned off by it.

Cool, the game hasn't changed all that much so if you didn't like previous ones you probably won't be into this one either.

Fair Enough

I agree with some of your complaints, after running it a lot more, but some Id give my lil 2 cents

Points where I agree

1. Those hitmarkers, could be quite insane, what happens ingame for me aint what the killcam shows. there have been about 4 tiny patches some dealing with this same issue. It hasn't affected the overall fun Ive had so far, but it can be jarring.

2. No server browser is a nitpick, I knew of it before, but it still is a negative. As far as ping goes, there is the option of adjusting search preferences where u set it according to your latency. Ive heard it helped some folk in getting into lag free games according to their preference. Its not ideal but it seems to help.

3. The drop shooting and bunny hopping is there yea, but well its cod, kinda comes with the territory, doesn't make it less annoying tho. Those are mostly the staple of Team Deathmatch, Free For All and the other generic modes. That aint happening it in Search and Destroy, Demolition, Hardpoint etc

Points where I disagree

1. I reload when im running all the time, check my replays to see for yourself. It slows you down a tad, but if you equip faster reload, it hardly becomes a nitpick.

2. The drones, bouncing betty's etc, all could be offset from the engineer, and other various perks, mix n  match according to your playstyle and see. Not to mention, you could avoid airstrikes if go dark with cold blooded etc. Pick your poison.

You should try partying up with other locals and getting the proper feel of it overall.

That said the general engine and feel of COD is still there. As Woody rightly said if you didn't like it before this probably won't make you like it now.

I basically came here to open up people's eyes to a new way of thinking and gaming.

If people like Henry Ford were like the diehard COD players, thinking its the be all and end all, we would ALL be riding donkey carts in 2012 simply because, it was good enough.

Oh yes and  I HAVE tried Blops II when it was released.....four years ago

Emancipate yourself from these service packs people.

The next level of gaming certainly aint COD, but it certainly ain't Battlefield either, and forcing your opinion on others ain't going to Open anyone's eyes, it will just piss them off more.

People choose, to play what they feel to play. Accept that move on and play yuh game of preference.

Food for thought.

Seriously, i think the "good word" of battlefield 3 has not only been spread, but has been pasted like shit all over the walls of gatt for quite enough. We've had enough of spreading the good word, how about we let some other games shine for a change, and promote a wide choice of various games and not just the 1 be all end all of gaming known as b3.

Priors of the Ori boy!

Priors:

The Ori are served by so-called Priors, highly devolved human beings, who act as missionaries of the Ori, by traveling to different planets to spread the religion of Battlefield 3.

Well these types of discussions derail the thread, this is supposed to be a discussion about black ops 2. Comparing it to another game is fine but let's not lose focus on what this thread is for, namely black ops 2 news, tactics etc. Yeah we get it, bf3 is the better game but some still choose to play it.

Can we create a separate thread for this type of discussion, eg. Bf3 vs black ops 2. Think that would make more sense.

Wait, so we reach to name-calling now?  Seriously?

Take my name out of that 'Ori' nonsense please?

I played it, compared it, gave it my honest opinion, and I'm done with it...which is more than I can say for you.

..and I did that without name-calling/characterisation of anyone.

Everybody big, and have enough sense to make an informed choice about what brings them the most joy...and I've explained why (for me) this game ain't it.

So until you've walked the proverbial mile in my shoes, you can miss me with that shit.

Carry on smartly.

@ Arc - Oh gorsh boy, no insult intended, it was PURELY pico. I see d thread getting ah lil spicey nah, so decided to inject some humor, no insult intended atal. I actually have rel respect for d fact that you actually try d game and give it a fair shot. And you offered opinions that i appreciated, for instance it was good to know that the same "who see who first" type of gameplay i generally dislike is present in this cod as well. And of all d nay-sayers and hatorade drinkers, you're usually d one to present a meaningful logical argument that make sense and is not just pure fanboyism. So dont confuse my post or take it personal or anything of d sort, much respect, believe that.

All that being said, of corse i will remove your name from the prior statements if yuh want, or if u want me replace your picture with a black prior instead i coudl do that too, just say d word. Its all cool bro.

@ Shiv, Torchlight 2!? yuh lie, i was waiting on that to go on sale.
