I was intrigued by the 77W TDP as well, but when I saw all the official reports of temps near 100C while overclocking (and with proper tower-style coolers too) I was a tad disappoint.

I'll be sticking with X79/LGA2011 as my upgrade path, although for the price of that 3930K, you can get a 3820 + motherboard.
Intel could keep that.

I always wanted to go 6 core, but d insane price of d X series, vs d little to no benefit it gives in gaming, just wasn't wroth it. That 3930k is ah nice compromise, still an expensive beast, but still plenty cheaper than d X.
So i taking ah bite of that.

If i go 690 go be interested to see how it faceoff against yuh 2 680s in true.
But with that rampage, im almost tempted to go 3 680s.
