Demon's Souls actually lost a TON of money, which is why Atlus sold the franchise to Namco (And they were NOT happy about it).
...and not everyone has the time to invest in learning a 'hard' game either. The main game buying demographic are the people with relationships, jobs, families...you know, actual LIVES nah. If you make a game that's not easily accessible to that demographic, well you have to depend on the 'hardcore' niche to carry your franchise, and when has that ever worked? You'll have a good, hard game that almost no one buys. As a dev, making your accessible (aka 'easier' ) is almost crucial to success these days. That's just how it is. the "lives" thing is such a poor excuse
Microsoft making all the right moves with these exclusives yes. And that's exactly what they need, strong exclusives to take on uncharted and infamous etc.Halo, Gears, Titanfall, Killer Instinct, some nice nice exclusives there.I won't be surprised if they swoop in and buy all the rights to titanfall for future products. I know it have rumors of titanfall 2 for ps4, but MS move rel aggressive these days.
Dread even d titanfall man didn't know MS cut ah deal for full exclusive rofl. MS moving rel sick ah tell yuh. Ah like.No titanfall 1 on ps4 eh, just confirming that. Titanfall 2 is up in the air, but I have a feeling MS go lock it down. And yes, they need those, what was Sony advantage for a long while is better stronger exclusives, not so much any more. MS made halo a household brand. Gears pull it's weight.
