   We are already starting to see the effect of  Megaupload take down.Most of user on the files sharing sites are taking precaution.
   Will streaming as we know it be the same or will this be the end of streaming all together.Back to torrenting?What are you guys thought this?

well I've never used mega upload for streaming (or for much of anything to be honest) so the impact on me personally is minimal.

on a broader level, I do see this as another high profile strike against piracy. Just as with imesh, kazaa, napster, etc...

At this stage it should be common knowledge that piracy hurts (rather than helps) the industry so all in all it should not be a bad thing.

Legitimate services like netflixx, steam, itunes, amazon downloads / video service will see increased activity as more and more of these file sharing sites take a hit from the authorities.

The digital era won't end anytime soon. It will just get progressively legitimate imo.

"Back to torrents?" I never left. Actually I think thats how most of us dl our stuffz.

Never really used Megupload, prolly just to dl anime when I wasn't feeling like torrenting.

I actually think that this will help the industry.
And hopefully it will improve the services we consume. In fact i'm hoping that the increased demand for legitimate material may cause some "droppage" in price

Yeah i mean, its like a hydra. yeah megaupload was popular and they took it down , but there are 100 more in its place. its not a big deal imho.

That said though, this is just another case of cutting another head off the piracy hydra, expect two to grow back. There's no way to stop piracy, pirates will just go deeper and more sophisticated every time. All the industry can do is try to make their products available in a convenient and affordable fashion.
Making your online distribution strategy "Kill dem pirates so everyone buys our physical media or equally priced digital offering!" has all the makings of fail on it.
