X-Men Fist Class

Warrior

Fast Five

Sucker Punch

Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Transformers: Dark of the Moon

Voting ends February 1st.

NOMINATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED!

That time again folks! To decide who's worthy of the title 'Best Movie of 2011'.

The 5 movies with the most votes will be entered into the final poll.

Let me get things rollin' with the following....

Warrior

The youngest son (Hardy) of an alcoholic former boxer (Nolte) returns home, where he's trained by his father for competition in a mixed martial arts tournament -- a path that puts the fighter on a collision corner with his older brother (Edgerton).

Fast Five

Quote
Dominic and his crew find themselves on the wrong side of the law once again as they try to switch lanes between a ruthless drug lord and a relentless federal agent.

Drive

Quote
A Hollywood stunt performer who moonlights as a wheelman discovers that a contract has been put on him after a heist gone wrong.

^coming from a man who give "I Am Number Four" a notable mention.  :laughing7:

But I would agree. Sucker Punch was ball$ IMO. And I completely forgot about Limitless. If I had remembered, I would have given it my vote over Fast Five.

lol @ hate for sucker punch.

I thoroughly enjoyed that movie and it stayed with me for weeks after. (Still have the Emily Browning cover of "Sweet dreams" on my mp3 playlist to this day)

Also liked "I am number four" and "immortals" as well as "Green Lantern" so maybe my tastes aren't as discerning. lol

But I know there are some big contenders that have not streamed across my silver screen as yet. Hence reservation of the third nomination.

Right now, I'd give it to Warrior...but want to watch a few more heavy hitters before casting that final stone.

The mission over the next two weeks is to give those a proper critique.

Drive, Fast 5, Mission Impossible 4, Limitless, Sherlock Holmes 2, etc...

Same here.

I too did not see Fast Five,  now that I think of it I missed a lot of movies last year Source Code, Limitless etc. Now that I have some free time on my hands I just might watch them.

Even though the thread title says "movie of the year" it's also kinda what movies each member enjoyed the most for the year 2011. Each of us would have diff picks ofc so fair is fair lol.
