Guys,

As mentioned before, starting an article reviewing the various internet options in Trinidad and Tobago.

Areas for review:

Speed

Latency

Price

Reliability

Tech Support

Availability (Will be testing wimax out in Maracas or Toco, lol)

Router / Modem features

Infrastructure Requirements

Any other areas should be considered?

How will the reviews be done?By poll or personally?For the latency, will we be getting speedtest.net results? Overall, looks very thorough, will edit the post if i think of anything.

We will establish a set of criteria and perform those tests across all the available connection options on the island.

For example.

Tech Support. We place a call to the publicized tech support number. One call during the day, one call after hours.

Note how long they take to respond. Ask for a technician to come out to repair a faulty internet modem, note the timeframe they propose.

Etc...


Latency would be easy.

Pick three public servers.

Say www.carigamers.com

www.google.com

and www.cariszone.com

See what sort of response times.

Run the speedtest to an Atlantic based server in the states.

Note the results.

Etc...etc...
