Small correction, they've dropped the "FX" from their moniker...it's just the GeForce 6800 (Ultra) now

Crix, no sense in gettin a 4800 at this stage in the game, unless you plan to upgrade again in the next 6-12 months...it'd have to be a serious bargin price to warrant purchasing it. You'd be much better off getting a 9600 or something along those lines...

Trini.. it is beta drivers they used. When there are polished drivers and the problems still exist then you can start your conspiracy theory. Common sense eh?

they kept quiet for all this time, they said nothing when the 9800xt was released, released there 5900 and 5950 with very little hype and then dropped an ion cannon beam on ati with the 6800.

there was quite a bit of hype around this card... bt it was not named.. and nvidia learned from the the FX hype not to overdoo it .. just in case the competition has something  better.  [5800vs 9800 pro ] .

 so what its that fast at 400mhz? it has 2x the processing power of the 5900.. it does not neeed high clock ... as amd proves with every athlon...  and the 9700 pro proved by defeating the higher clocked 5800 with only 325 mhz... the only thing that matters is real world benchmarks performance .

but the new readons clocked higher . the pro is 500 Mhz and the xt is at 600 Mhz. Hope it performs ok .so it would drop the 9800 price down

actually if anyone saw the unreal 3.0 engine demo at lauch day of 6800 they know what the 6800 capable of since right now nothing actualy does trouble that card to do
