THE PASSION OF OUR SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST
« Reply #20 on: March 20, 2004, 02:13:04 PM »
Guys, enough of this.
The last thing we need is for a simple misunderstanding to get blown completely out of control.

I have yet to see the movie, but you have this Outlaw's word that he will see it. But Richjob does have a point....while it is good that 'the Passion of the Christ' is reinforcing the faith of our Saviour into the masses, fact is, we should ALREADY be believing in the power of the Lord, WAY before a movie as powerful as this came out.
I think it's great that a movie such as this is creating such an impact upon the people. From what I've heard, people cried their eyes out and really, truly sympathised with our Lord when they saw the depiction of Jesus being brutalised, suffering for our sins. But is it necessarily right that people are believing upon the release of a movie?

People, from the time we get to know the Lord, we should believe, REALLY believe in Him. He already dropped us hints all over the place as to what we could do to profess our faith in Him.
1. Read the Bible.
2. Pray regularly.
3. Keep the Lord's commandments [and not just the ten given to Moses on Mt. Sinai].
4. Believe in your heart and soul that Jesus died for your sins, and that in Him, we shall all be saved.

...now, I ask you, is it true faith in the Lord to merely sympathise with the depiction portrayed in the movie, and say that you believe? Unless that movie really shook you up, made you really see HOW JESUS DIED for us all, and makes you compelled to do the Lord's will, then mere tears ain't gonna cut it, my friend.

Now, I do applaud Mel Gibson for making such a masterpiece, and going to the extreme to show how the Lord died to save us all, and making such an impact upon all who have laid eyes upon that movie. Like I said, I -will-see that movie, you have my word.

But my point is, you should have been a believer from the start, not because of a movie. But then again, if you really and truly believe after seeing this movie, and do want to carry out the Lord's will, then, my friend, may the Grace of our Lord be with you.  And that's all I've got to say about that.
Peace to you all.

Aww...SHOOT.
And here I thought I could pass around the collection plate and get a little something for my troubles. Darn. :(

Of course, if it's no trouble to slip a couple of shillings or a *cough*hundred*cough* dollar bill for your old buddy NEO here, you can do so if you wish....

OK FELLAS i didnt start the thread fuh allyuh to argue about whether it was a documentary or whaever i start it cause i was emotional the night i saw it and i had to say wha was on my mind new era outlaw come on nobody saying anything bout the movie was to show ppl that christ went thru I for one believe that it was to reaffirm everyone what christ went thru come on if noone knew that the guy who ws gettin tortured was jesus do u really think that ppl's reaction of level tears would have been?? NOO it wouldnt....
Everyone knew it was jesus suffering and so they reacted emotionally to it what im saying is that the movie is just a simple reminder for people who are true believers and jus need to keep therir head above the water

if the means of deliverance is a movie
who are we to question the means
as long as it doesn't go against what is "right"
just look at the results

that is all I have left to say

richjob is right
while this is De Pit
this is a Gamers forum

but it is good to see several of the forums more notorious members have a more than just average opinion of their faith

big ups to all of you  :bigups:

and I apologize for any misunderstandings :)
