Ah boy.  Silver Arrow.  *smiles*

Hats off to you sir.  Boss upgrade there.

My one problem is the cost of that particular GTX580.

Personally, would have gone with two 6990s, for just 50 US more (in total).
Plenty more bang-for-buck, but two GPUs bring their own sets of challenges
into the mix.

I can understand why you mounted the Silver Arrow like that, because of the RAM,
but did you consider moving each fan one space back so that you could have mounted
it horizontally
?

Wasnt studying the ram, cooler is facing a large 200mm fan, approx 1000rpm used for exhaust
And a slower 750 rpm 200mm for intake just above the videocard

Two 6990's is just about the same price of a 580? I would have thought two of AMDs flagship cards would cost much more than that. Will confirm once I get to a pc.

Also, why did you go the route of air cooling of the macco variety instead of something like the corsair h70?

@ Syncrod: I see the 200 mm up top, but you mentioned another one.  Not seeing it.
Or is it attached to the side panel?

After a long hard battle with the temptation to redo the entire system,
I decided that it was best (cost wise). I and simply purchased another gtx 580 for 2 way sli.
Also at 4.2ghz with ht on
18gb ram @ 1600mhz 9-9-9-27 1t
Hoping to get the gtx Friday or monday
Benchmarks afterwards
