Nah, if anyone getting Rim is Google. Hands off you filthy Microsofties. It is alleged that BBM is coming to Android, HOPEFULLY during the course of negotiations Google will be like, lets buy you guys out completely.

That will be epic. I dream of the day I can administer Android devices via our BES server, finally move people on to a real smartphone.

Hey Facebook saw fit to release a stand alone messenger app to compete with BBM.

That's a fact.

You might think its not a big deal but from where I sit, that's huge news in the mobile space.

Happy that WP7 has some similar functionality built in with Mango but think outside of one device. We looking for ubiquity here.

That FIM looks very much like a precursor to FB Messenger.

Personally, whatsapp does the job. Very well. If it gets on all platforms, I'll stick with that.

However, if FB Messenger gets on all platforms first.....then FB Messenger ftw!

My bottom line is to have one application for messaging that works across all devices with the (critical) group chat feature.

Oh and it must notify you of new messages. On my bb, whatsapp and bbm does the trick right now. BBM does't sit on all devices, but whatsapp does Android, iOS, BlackBerry and Symbian. So Whatsapp taking the lead for the moment.

Here is a challenge, lets see if FB chat / messenger can provide a group chat option for us across Android, iOS, Symbian AND WP7.

Critical piece being WP7.

lol, it ALREADY provides group chat over WP7 you din read my ridiculously long post? lol.
And yes, fb chat/messenger or whatever u want to call it, cross platform is bess. i want it too.
So if everybody on droid/ios/bb wahtever, have d app, then great. what im saying is, windows phone 7 does not need it, nor want it. Becuase wp7 users will be able to group chat just fine, wiht anybody on any platform using fb messenger. im ALLLL for fb messenger on all platforms, but im saying Windows Phone Mango already surpass what fb messenger bringing to d other platforms. So to us wp7 users, we dont care if it have a app or not. D real challenge is a cross platform chat network, not an app persay.
If they integrate bbm network into mango, it going to do d same exact job, as bbm on d blackberry, or android, or whatever.

So once again, FB Messenger cross platform is win, and WP7 Mango does not need an app to join d party, but rather, android/ios/bb needs an app, to join OUR party.

And @ Capt. Awesome, i remember skype talking much like u were, Skype "we dont see supporting the windows phone 7 platform benificial, we are at this time only supporting Android / IOS devices" (not a direct quote). Microsoft said - "eh heh is so? hold 8.5 billion, suck on that" -> GG!

I see much the same happening wiht BBM

Also, rim already has strong partnerships with MS in d business front.
Hell some of microsoft cloud exchange services offers BES as part of d package.
It more logical for MS to acquire RIM because of BES.
Anyways, we go see how it plays out, but knowing uncle bill, he not going to let google get their filthy paws on RIM.

So in closing, wyatt if i see anything more bout wp7 need fb messenger app i mite have to hit yuh one of these ->

way boy messiaah, a lil less typing and a lil more reading!

I was asking if you would be willing to test setting up a group chat using fb chat/messenger for GATT.

We currently use whatsapp but it doesn't do WP7.

Lets see how far the FB ecosystem goes.

I'm getting your messages messiaah, but whenever I reply, it says to send it as a facebook email message.

That's on the BB.

When I try on facebook itself using my web browser, I get this error.
