The checkered flag dropsIf this review has been effusive, I make no apologies. Forza Motorsport 4 really is that good. As a way to while away the days before I can dress up in fireproof nomex and go racing for real, it's just about perfect. The cars handle realistically with the driving assists turned off, and are accessible to even the most casual gamer with them on. It looks and sounds great, and comes with robust single player and online modes. In my interview with Dan Greenawalt, he stressed that he sees Forza as a way to get people to think about cars in new ways, creating the next generation of car lovers. If any video game can do that, it will be Forza. Downsides? The loss of Porsche due to Electronic Arts' newfound intransigence is a shame. My failure to get Kinect head tracking to work makes me sad, but that might be due to my living room setup more than anything else. Beyond that, I'm really struggling; the game is that good. There's a new world champion, and its name is Forza Motorsport 4.
This game almost makes me wish that I did not sell my 360...ALMOSTT.
