This game is every bit as epic as seen in the trailer. I spent about 2 hours on it so far and only completed like 2 missions...got side tracked by all epic randomness that goes on in the game world. :))

The pc version lagged horribly at launch but nvidia sorted that out with the beta driver that was released yesterday...v310.64 I think. It's a must for this one.

Wait... It's been released already?
Dammit, my credit card still sore from last week.  :laughing7:

I wish I could say, but I haven't touched that portion of the game yet.

I'm not gonna continue this one until I complete Assassins Creed 3 and Hitman Absolution. Too much good games and no time to play them. :-D

My word...the single player very... VERY wicked.  Reminds me of the 1st Far Cry in so many ways...right down to the ballz-kick my rig got trying to run it maxed out.  :laughing7:  Yeah, that ain't happening without a sweaty GPU upgrade.  :ko:

Shiv...I'm interested to hear what your settings are, and the performance.

Mostly high and very high settings with Post Processing on low and 2x MSAA. I'm running on the 310.64 beta driver and it made a huge impact on performance. At these settings my system can maintain FPS above 60.

Oh crap... I completely glossed over the 'beta driver' part.   :laughing7:  I'm still on the last WHQL driver (306.97 I think).

I shall mimic those settings...and maybe I can get away with 8x MSAA.

playing it on ultra with AA set on 2x. runs between 50-60 in open world. AA kills it though.

Pretty decent review, they are usually harsh.

Nah boy... crown Far Cry 3 the NEW single-player champion yes...

...and yes...that's a wild dog (dingo) running down a deer.  :laughing7:
he evetually caught im and had im for lunch.  All this I observed while scouting an enemy outpost.

Found a hidden 'drug-stash' in a cave quite by accident, complete with secret beach access.

There's literally so much to do it ain't even funny.
That trailer that Rage posted only scratched the surface of the awesome.

I am putting it to you now that Far Cry 3 might just be THE best single-player experience for 2012.  Yes...it's THAT good.

Whatever platform you own...you owe it to yourself to play this one.

It's a brand new title, so you won't see it on sale yet.
Got it on good ole Steam.  $49.99 for the 'basic' version, and $59.99 for the 'deluxe' which gives you access to a few extra weapons and mp goodies.

You know I like to call a spade, a spade...and this spade is awesome.  :laughing7:

Do not walk... RUN, and get this game.
In my opinion, it is well worth your duckets, and your limited time.

Yeah... Far Cry 3 = Meh NEW Hoss  :laughing7:

I was now watching it cut eye on steam there.

But same problem with Messiaah, I already have so many highly rated games still to finish.

Will just be wrong to pick up yet another and rest it on the shelf.

and I WILL CUSS LOUD...if I buy this at full price....don't get a chance to play it....then see it selling for 50% off in a Steam sale.

Never played Skyrim, but I understand why that characterisation was made because of the many RPG-like elements involved.
The good thing is that it's not totally necessary...it's all there to make the gameplay increasingly accessible, and helps flesh out your character's story a bit more as you progress.  You just have to work for it a little, but it's never tedious, or frustrating...well,  unless you're stalking some wild boar, and hear a low growl...only to spin around and see a goddamned TIGER (I s#!t you not) closing on you at full gallop.........   WHEW  :laughing7:

...I heard some say it's skyrim with guns, what's your response to that?

Yeah it's like a Skyrim lite with guns and some pretty sick ways of traversing the islands. It's not as big as Skyrim but that's not a bad thing. The character development and and customization isn't as in-depth and it seems much easier to achieve unlocks and upgrades.

...unless you're stalking some wild boar, and hear a low growl...only to spin around and see a goddamned TIGER (I s#!t you not) closing on you at full gallop.........   WHEW  :laughing7:

LOL! Yeah, its hunt or be hunted out there.

Just a heads up, if you ever have to cross a river or pond that is covered with water-lilies, I would recommend popping a couple grenades in there first. Check out from 0:50s.

Not my gameplay but yeah, I nearly sh#t myself when it happened. I survived only because I was smashing every key on my keyboard. :laughing7:
