I think he's talking about the burial at sea.

They seem to have taken some liberties with that rule - since sea burials in Islamic practice are only supposed to be done if the person dies at sea, and will not be able to reach land before decay sets in.

http://www.al-islam.org/laws/burial.html - 623.

However, I could see why it was done - any burial site would immediately become a shrine to those that believed in his way of life. In any case, the shrine will most likely now become either his place of birth or death.

meh... Watchin BBC its like - "We THINK he had a role with in the last few years in the Al Qaeda operations". "We BELIEVE", "We presume", "We assume", "It is said".... Nothing that i've heard yet says any of there allegations against the man are true. They are 99.9% sure that the DNA is his. We are 99.6% similar to the great apes yet WE ARE NOT APES. SO i call bullshit. I'll play doubting Thomas for this one. I hadda see his body to believe its him. I don't discourage all those theories that the US have conspired everything that happened from WWI straight till now. It is a POSSIBILITY. So again, meh...

So watching more of this news thing. The questions raised about his burial at sea. So according to US officials, Islam requires burial within 24 hrs of death. I dont know how accurate this is. There is also speculation about why he was buried at sea, seeing as someone raised a point on BBC that, when a Muslim is buried at sea, its because he died, at sea. I dont know much about these practices so if anyone can clear this up.

The man responsible for Anti Terrorism in the US basically said to the press after the question asked which was asked, "Was there an Imam present?" His response, - The appropriate people were consulted. The appropriate people were present for the burial. The appropriate practices were followed. - In a nut shell of course. This mc VAGUE answers these people give and everyone jus eats it up like that! Being fed all these half truths and taking it for absolutes... SIGH

makes sense when u say that... because after being killed they wouldve taken him str8 off island... back to the carrier etc...

Not sure what ur implying here.. Whatever the reasons, if you have nothing to hide, answer a damn Yes/No question. Seriously, the man was simply asked, a yes/no question - Was an Imam present? - He couldnt simply say yes? really? Don't give me an answer which different inferences can be made.

what i'm implying is... why the man have to give you a yes/no answer... he say the appropriate ppl was there.. why that not good enough for you... for a known terrorist who has directly caused and influenced the deaths of so many... or is all that smoke and mirrors to... maybe Osama doesnt even exist.. he was all a hoax...

my point is.. why you kicking up a big deal for him... kick up a big deal some good fellow who deserves it, how much Muslims and other races could not get a proper burial because of his actions... why are you so trying to give him so much consideration now... sigh...

the man dead.. woohoo... he lucky they bury him in 24 hours... thats being nice.. respecting @ least part of his believes.. even doh he did not respect most of the worlds belief

Ulti...please...I know you're Muslim, and I understand, but let's not start that.  It won't end well.

On a 'lighter' note:  the raid was unknowingly tweeted 'live' from an IT consultant living in the area.

Wow...such is the power of the internets these days...and I don't even USE Twitter...I get by
pretty OK without it.  Never saw the need.

LOL I couldn't do anything but laugh when i read that last statement. Perhaps I did sound ideological, but I ask, did "terrorism" not come into the limelight with 911. I ask, if a man had the balls to launch 2 planes into the twin tower, do think said man, would hide in a cave for 10 years while all his people are killed? Seeing that said man is a multi-millionaire, would he have not gathered more resources to continue the onslaught? Just don't add up for me nah.

Anywho, the man dead and gone (or so they say), and he was the "leader" of the "terrorist" from he caves, so the "terrorists" will now be disjointed and the troops could just rush in and kill them all! YAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!

Edit: ARC hoss forgive me I ent see my bed in like 37 hours so I running on fumes.....

No need bro.

You did raise an interesting point though... how do we REALLY know for sure that he
was actually killed?  Pretty convenient that only the US government 'knows' that they
got him, and then buried him at sea.  Remember, the US intelligence framework is
pretty good at mis-/dis-information distribution.

For all you know, they could have him in a secure lockup somewhere, never to see the light of day again.
Or, it could be that they did not get him at all.  I am still -somewhat- skeptical of the whole affair,
and it's not only me.  I just saw a man-on-the-street interview on TV6 where a man said: '...dey set up
a man, to make it look good.  Bush fadda, Chennet...Cheney (yes, that's what he said...lol), and Rumsfeld,
DEM is de REAL terrorists!!!'

As someone pointed out on BBC's website: '...pretty convenient this happens so close to re-election, eh Obama?'
That's a pretty significant observation.  Americans are already calling for 'four more years of Obama'.

I hold no brief for OBL, but I'm in the skeptics' camp until I see a LOT more proof.

...and the REAL man who still actively involved in AL-Qaeda operations around the world,
al-Zawahiri, is STILL at large.  Oh how quickly we forget, eh?

lol, awesome say pix or it didn't happen yes.

but seeing as everybody in Trinidad with a me2 has picture taking capability, I'm sure the american soldiers had a "photo taking apparatus" on them.

Only a matter of time before it hits wikileaks.

Ok before I start my post some lighter reading material lol

Some of these photos seem to be photoshopped, what do you think?
http://www.boingboing.net/2011/05/02/photo-obama-and-nati.html?dlvrit=36761

Also I went on to learn what a Burn Bag is hehe.....interesting stuff.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burn_bag

Anyway yall raise some good points, and I must agree it just seems too convenient indeed. And the scary thing with big government is that you really do not know the truth, think about it who polices the police which in this case is the US. You would never think that such a righteous/advanced country such as the US would be celebrating the death of a man so eh. I mean the guy wasn't a saint but it is crazy to see how jubilant people over there are getting, perhaps we are biased since we are not american?

I assume alot of resources were poured into this covert operation which culminated in the death on Bin Laden, a move I say was definitely more political than operational. It has been well established that "Al Qaeda" does not really have a formal chain of command but like most terrorist cells work in various disjointed groups. So "terrorism" isn't gone, the threat still there, oh but wait at least there is a reliable enemy for the government to place blame on. It is interesting to see how the media is just lapping this up eh? No sort of investigative journalism to find out more details, get confirmation on death etc.

I dug up this article from 2009, doesn't really matter if he was alive or dead all this time. All they needed to do was give out their "version" of what was going on.
