Good idea putting that in quotes...cuz as far as I care, the last time I hear someone actually SING to win Soca Monarch was back when Shadow buss down everybody with "Stranger".

No antics. No gimmicks. No wheeling tracks. No rubbishing fellow competitors. Just perform your track and let that do the talking.

With that said, it always amazes me to see how Iwer does place so high every year, cuz his lyrics and delivery imo tend to be absolute crap (although this year was more along the lines of him having a normal bowel movement as opposed to diahrrea)! I'll give him this though, he knows how to rile up a crowd.

Allyuh a lil bit into this too much and seemingly misinformed to boot.

1. Text Messages made up 20% of final score. Rest was from Performance, Presentation, Crowd Response etc. Not like it was 100% like Chutney Soca. Speaking of Chutney Soca, how come COTT not all up in singers mc about taking indian movie melodies outta the blue and selling that with retarded lyrics.

2. I think the results were as expected based on the actual judging criteria although I wanted Iwer to win. As far as crowd response goes I don't think anyone beat Iwer.

3. As far as Ramlogan goes, can someone really tell me whats wrong with this ?

The man was stating the obvious, and like 50% of population would agree with him regardless of Machel buttering up to the ruling party and if we've all forgotten Machel is a business man first and a entertainer second. Of course conspiracy theories all over but that expected.

I'm well aware that texting was 20% of the points. It's why I said
I was glad the competition had actual judges. If it was to be decided
solely by texting, well, all HD had to do was walk out onstage in a draws
and a vest, and stand up one place while his 'song' played over the speakers...and take win.

...because most trinis are f@#king sheep, especially where this 'soca' thing is concerned, and HD knows this. Just look at some of the comments on YouTube.
