Ahh yes Nexus 5 ordered!!!!

Ah boi. Get thru! lol

How much are you expecting the phone to cost in total (inclusive of shipping)?

Never ordered a phone online, so I'm not sure how much VAT or taxes will be added.

Google just pulled a “Facebook Home”: KitKat’s primary interface is Google Search
Android 4.4 quietly moved the entire home interface into a souped-up search app.

http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2013/11/google-just-pulled-a-facebook-home-kitkats-primary-interface-is-google-search/

One of the headline features of Android 4.4 is a revamped home screen and app launcher. The icons are bigger, there is more transparency, and the app drawer makes better use of the screen real estate. It's also heavily integrated with Google Search and Google Now, although you might not see it at the surface level. Sure, there's the usual search bar widget and a swipe to the left will open the full Google Search app, but the integration goes much deeper than that. While developing KitKat, Google made a very interesting decision: rather than graft a few new search UI pieces onto the home screen, Google threw the existing home app in the trash and turned all home screen functionality over to the Google Search app.

A respectable review from The Verge. Long story short, bess phone with kinda shitty camera. But nothing an update won't be able to fix. Do want!

at that price, I really don't have much expectations for the camera.

Can't wait for them to equate nokia's in the next iteration of the nexus hopefully!

This is it. For the price you pay, this is the absolute best value and quality you'll get for the price... Unless you steal a Nexus 5 in which the value proposition is even higher.

Lawdavemercy...were I not such a Galaxy Note *ahem* 'enthusiast', I'd be all over this.  It's rather sexy, and KitKat could be a game-changer for Google/Android.

It's good to see LG finally stepping up with quality devices though.
People who used to say 'LG is shit' and 'ah will NEVAH buy a LG device'  (they know themselves   ) are now all over this Nexus.

Looks like that cheap price came with a cost:

I pay no attention to wmpower user. They always have a thick, heavy hate for anything non-windows. Boo.

Looking at the original article is much more tolerable.

Of course the lumia is better at taking photos. I happily paid half lumia top end prices for the n5 and will do it again and again. I'm satisfied with the N4's camera and by all accounts, n5 is an improvement so I happy like pappy.

Motorola Moto G..THE choice for an affordable smartphone.
« Reply #1951 on: November 30, 2013, 11:15:56 AM »
Well I used to recommend the Lumia 620 to people who are looking for a decent phone on a budget but with the release of the Moto G, you get a nice clean, lean and mean build of Android with DOUBLE the specs of the WP device and all  the lovely advantages of the Android eco system for $20 LESS.

Hard luck Microsoft. Looks like your plans to become a force in the high performing low end sector now has a wrench alll up in dem gears.

I can't recommend the Lumia 625 either as it doesnt support either bmobile or digicel 4g. Real pain with Nokia.

Played it, it's decent. The same problem happened for me though, the transfer window became more fun than the actual game. :-/
