It doesn't look good. This Galaxy S III apparently malfunctioned while in an in-car holster, causing some substantial melting and burn marks across the lower half of the device. The global HSPA+ iteration of Samsung's new flagship apparently sparked into white flames, followed by a bang. While it's certainly not the first smartphone to implode in transit, the damage -- along the base but separate to the charging port -- looks pretty substantial and although the screen still apparently worked, reception was dead. The phone has been whisked off to a repair center through phone retailer Carphone Warehouse for the full autopsy. User dillo2k10 was left unscathed, but it's apparently left some nasty molten plastic remains on the inside of his car. Hit up the link below for some more scorch-marked close-ups.

I do find the nexus gets a little warm when running games. Not nuclear....but warm enough for concern.

I've used this on iPad a few times really nifty app, glad it's finally available on Android.........

Flipboard Releases Android App

http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2406170,00.asp

As promised, Flipboard today launched an Android version of its news reader.
The service also confirmed its partnership with Google+ and YouTube and announced that it will expand to five new countries.

On the Android front, Flipboard will now be available on Android phones worldwide, as well as on the Nook and the Kindle Fire. Users can download it from Google Play, the Amazon Appstore, or the Barnes & Noble Nook Store. It will also be available via Samsung Apps and come pre-installed on certain Galaxy S III handsets.
Flipboard made its debut on the iPad in 2010, and came to the iPhone late last year, quickly logging 1 million downloads. The free app scans your friends' social posts and presents their links and articles in a magazine-like layout.
Flipboard first tipped an Android version last month.
The company today also confirmed the addition of Google+ and YouTube, which the search giant first announced earlier this week at LeWeb.
With the tie-up, users can add their Google+ account to Flipboard and see stories in their stream, updates from people in their Circles, and posts from pages they subscribe to - in a magazine-like format. They can also +1 any post or tap the avatar to share, comment, and reply on Google+.

Flipboard fans will also be able to watch YouTube videos from friends and subscribers, and comment, like, share, or subscribe right from the news reader.
"People are amazed by all the things they can see on Flipboard, and often the most personal and interesting stories come from friends," Mike McCue, CEO of Flipboard, said in a statement. "Today we have over 2,000 featured content partners from around the world and, now with the addition of Google+ and YouTube, we have all of the popular social networks for our readers to sit back and enjoy."

Finally, Flipboard is expanding with the release of localized editions for Germany, Korea, Italy, Spain, and The Netherlands. It already offers customized versions in Japan, France, China, and English-speaking countries including the U.S., the U.K., Canada, and Australia.
For more, see PCMag's full reviews of Flipboard for the iPad and Flipboard for the iPhone (slideshow below).

When I first looked at the android store some months ago, it was a hot mess.

Chock full of half baked apps, most asking for more permissions than necessary.

On my last dive into the "Play Store" (which I still think is a silly name for the android market place) it was a totally different story.

Like they did a massive redesign or something. A lot of really top rated and polished apps are in your face for download/purchase.

And seems every day I'm hearing of more and more IOS apps being released for android.

well played google, well played!

the misses can't buss style on my with her ipad anymore.

Mini motor is really buggy. I swear I have never cursed so much trying to finish those two championships.

Bit of advice if you want to beat the game you will have to get the f1 race car.

Is it better than mini motor?

Mini motor running real good on my phone, hasn't crashed once. I played through half the career mode lol. Quite a few tracks to unlock.

Reckless racing 2 decent, race tracks seem to be larger than mini motor racing

Folks... I have a new ROM hoss... and it is PARANOIDANDROID:sunny:

I'm always a bit skeptical of CyanogenMod-based ROMs, because they break a lot of things, but this one made me switch from my current ROM.
One of the key features of this ROM is that it allows seamless switching between 'phone' mode and 'tablet' mode, but that works better on bigger-screen
phones like the Galaxy Note.  I'll let others chime in on how dope that is.  :laughing7:

As for speed and stability: top-notch.  I haven't had a single crash or force-close yet...and believe me, I tested everything.
What I especially like is that you can launch the camera from the lockscreen in under 1 second.  Couldn't do that with my former ROM.
That particular feature is a big deal for me.  You never know when you have to play 'instant-paparazzi'. :laughing7:
