If you wanna talk thief, Google, apple and MS are all guilty of thiefing someone's IP at one time or the other and calling it their own. In fact, complain is Apple and MS middle name! If I were those MS guys, i'd get off my high horse.

If the courts decide they have to pay well so be it. Like I said, MS and Apple all complained at one point, took their matter to court and got/didnt get what they wanted.

Not sure how this is any different.

(and btw, the dripping hate to which I refer is on that wmpoweruser site)

Imagine Android infringing on so many patents, it costing OEMs more to produce d "free" android powered phones, than to pay to license MS.

15$ ah head from samsung? how mcuh ever from HTC, that is big big infringment d kinda money all dem men have to hand MS, hell Samsung have to stop selling galaxy tabs ina  certain country cuase apple injunction pass.

Normally ah lawsuit does be ah back and fort thing, but when it comes to android infringment, its up d ying yang. Add to that d 10% malware infection to d android appstore,
And d slow ass perfomrance of d battery hog dual core devices.

Epic Fail all round.

CEO Muss cuss, big baby, rofl.

Edit:

And all these android oems getting sued so badly, and Google say, they not going to court for nobody cause android "free" rofl rofl, google say handle yuh own scene yes. MS released a statement saying, anybody get sue over wp7, microsfot going to court on their behalf. Fail, Fail, Fail. wont be suprised if in 3 years android dont exsist, d way google doing business.

.. Ah well, enough ranting, back to my mango beta 2 focus with meh sexy sexy integrated wlm/fb chat, whiles i await meh sexy nokia with skype integration :)

I ain't realize there was an epic battle brewing again between android and wp7.

someone clue me in??? the # of wp7 devices I've seen around the place is a sum total of zero.

So I automagically assumed they weren't even a competitor anymore.

Has something changed recently?

Long story short my last rom flash did not go as planned. When I turn on my captivate it just shows the at&t screen and then goes straight to the recovery menu, if I choose reinstall packages it puts me into cwm.

I've been trying all these keypresses for download mode but no luck, it simply boots into the recovery menu.
http://samsungcaptivate.wikia.com/wiki/Putting_the_Phone_into_Download_Mode

As I can get into CWM, is there any way for me to access an external microusb card? I have an extra one and was wondering if I could simply copy across a new rom onto that sd card from my pc and then use cwm to install it from the microusb card.

I noticed they said the last option is a jig. Does anyone have one of these? If I could borrow it that would be a lifesaver.

I running Windows Phone Mango beta 2, brining integrated msn/fb chat (think a better faster bbm on those networks) , and they plug alot of holes and missing features, micorosft buy skype and integrating it into d OS, partnership with nokia to release superphones come fall of this year, taking 15$ ah head from HTC and samsung for android patent infringments forcing them to support wp7 more, boy is rel thing change since i last post, but technical dicussions on gatt get so gay i just dont bother. But google CLO make some very childish statments today that i coudlnt stop laughing at, and just decided to post them. Android fanboys come out to offer nothing to d dicussions as usual, lololol.  So thats all she wrote, d men on wp7 liking they self, and d platform jus gettin better and better, it was so fast to begin with, mango beta 1 made it faster, mango beta 2 EVEN faster, and mango final hitting juss now, along with generation 2 of wp7 handsets, this phone rel bad now yes, in just 1 year, and microsoft keep going at it, and with d 8.5 billion $ skype purchase and core integration coming soon, u know they eh backing down. I juss waiting for more juice, cuase this mango tasting SWEET! (Phoenix posted some vids of what mango brings in d windows phone 7 thread, check there for more information)

so much love in the mobile space.

I'll check that mango vid and see what all the fuss is about.

so if I understand correctly, the real war should start when mango hit final later this year then?

And android manufacturers taking a hit due to patent infringements, making them a little less attractive to produce.

fun times ahead.

propaganda and lies.

err....d amount of links to various tech sites i does be posting supporting meh claims, doh see where that one come out lololol.

..

D trolling part is about right, trolls gotta TROLL! hehehe.

Latest embarrassing piece of news on google's part:

Engadget (Another Propaganda and Lies site):

"Update: And now, shots have been fired from both sides. Brad Smith, Microsoft's General Counsel, has shot off the following tweet: "Google says we bought Novell patents to keep them from Google. Really? We asked them to bid jointly with us. They said no." We're guessing the truth lies somewhere in between, as it always does.

Update 2: Hoo boy! The hits just keep comin' out of Redmond. Frank Shaw, lead corporate communications for Microsoft has just tweeted an image of an email between Brad Smith and Kent Walker (Google's General Counsel) that appears to corroborate the claims that Microsoft wanted to team up with El Goog."

Here it is:

“Brad –
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you — I came down with a 24-hour bug on the way back from San Antonio. After talking with people here, it sounds as though for various reasons a joint bid wouldn’t be advisable for us on this one. But I appreciate your flagging it, and we’re open to discussing other similar opportunities in the future.

I hope the rest of your travels go well, and I look forward to seeing you again soon.
 –Kent”

Skype brings video support to 17 Android phones
« Reply #419 on: August 04, 2011, 11:23:20 AM »
http://news.cnet.com/8301-13506_3-20088035-17/skype-brings-video-support-to-17-android-phones/

Skype has launched version 2.1 of its application for Android devices, bringing video-chatting support to a host of new handsets.
According to the company, the update allows 17 more handsets to work with its video-calling feature. The HTC Evo 3D, HTC Evo 4G, Samsung Galaxy S II, and several other phones now support the feature. In addition, Skype said today that if users have smartphones not included in the list, but have a device running Android 2.2 (Froyo) or above, they should be able to enable video calling by turning it on in the app's settings.

"Skype video calling may be enabled by the user on almost all other Android handsets running Android OS 2.2 (Froyo) and above, that have a camera and a processor that supports the Neon technology," the company said in an e-mailed statement to CNET. "If the option to enable video calling is not available in the Skype settings, then unfortunately your phone does not meet the technical requirements to enable video calling."

Devices that aren't "certified," but still support video calling might not deliver the same experience, Skype says. According to the company, Froyo users with handsets featuring both front- and rear-facing cameras will only find support for the back camera. The company said that the front-facing camera will be supported on devices running Android 2.3 or above.

In late June, Skype unveiled video calling for Android devices. The service allows users to place or receive video calls from their handsets over both Wi-Fi and 3G. Calls work between Android devices, as well as iPhones, Macs, Windows PCs, and televisions.
At launch, Skype only offered video-calling on a few smartphones, but promised greater support in the future. With this update, the company says that video calling is now available on "the majority of Android handsets."

As Skype continues to update its products, the company is inching closer to its buyout. Earlier this year, Microsoft announced that it plans to acquire Skype for $8.5 billion. The deal is expected to gain regulatory approval by the end of 2011.
