http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/09/23/full-remote-device-lockdown-is-now-live-in-the-android-device-manager-instantly-overrides-previous-lock-settings-with-specified-password/
Tested it. Works as advertised.
Of course, it'll only work if you can login to your gmail account, so it can't be done 'jus so'.
The only caveat here is that if the thief can access 'Recovery Mode' or even 'Download Mode', the phone can be wiped/restored
with a new ROM/Recovery...but at least your data can be protected. Unfortunately, to lock down the 'Recovery' would be to cripple
what makes Android phones so easy to tinker with and tweak.
Google still has some work to do.
For stock devices...there needs to be some way for the device lock to persist through a device-restore.
Also...remote front-cam picturetakeouting
needs to be worked in there somehow. It's always nice to get a pic of the thief to give police.

The kepler architecture has proven itself to be very very very impressive.
Cant wait to see what the Titan 2 would be able to produce.
But men rel sours against NVidia right now because of Tegra 3, and d only oem to go tegra 4 is MS with a product that originally didn't see much success. If the Surface 2 (RT) don't see success, that whole tegra line could be in serious trouble. Qualcomm just cutting NVidia ass hard in mobile. Tegra 5 mite be too little too late.
It don't matter how good a product u have nah, if Carriers / OEMs don't support u, yUh going to see rel hard times.

Yes, but they also switch architecture like the wind...as proven from the switch from Tegra 3.
Easy as pie for them to switch back for Tegra 5.
Loyalty isn't the name of the mobile game.....(as blackberry has realized). Better product wins.
Turn over is lightning fast for this particular industry. Where desktops PCs and laptops are now achieving legendary product life cycles (three to five years)....mobile devices are still being dumped and swapped out annually.

Yes but is not like a bunch of ppl was on tegra 3 to begin with, tegra has never taken off and captured the kinda support it needs to succeed, qualcom on the other hand has been lashing a while now. So is not like all of them was tegra and just decide to jump ship. I doubt they go just drop QUALCOMM and go tegra 5 juss so. Qualcomm done build good relationships with everybody, also, d snapdragon 800 is a monster. muchless what QUALCOMM have up they sleves.

They don't need all, they just need a few.
If a nexus device for example run Tegra 5.
Boom bang.
They good to go.
Not to mention, nvidia playing around with devices of their own. If they score a hit, is gg wp.
The gamers mobile device. They aren't exactly strangers to the marketplace.
Google has proven you can go direct and score big.
I not really worried about them.
Either way, once they raise the bar....the others will need to trump and follow suit....which means faster and more capable mobile devices for all of us...regardless of the supplier come 2015.
And so they rise.

Agreed, if they score on the next nexus phone, that would mean a lot.
And yes, their increase in performance would force QUALCOMM to match regaurdless.
And no, I aint worry bout NVidia, them fellers good, even if they fail in mobile, they still good.
It suck that both next gen consoles went amd though, I think that's one of d reason NVidia pushing PC hard these days too lol.

The question is why they are doing this...the gains from cheating are miniscule...and only has an effect on the benchmarks apps in question.
The only logical explanation is that Samsung is pushing their Exynos SoC against Qualcomm's and everyone involved (SoC makers as well as phone manufacturers) looking to get any extra edge to gain the population's mindshare and eventually more sales.
As I type this out and analyse it in my head, it actually makes sense. Competition is a hell of a motivating factor. Trouble is, now that the cat is out of the bag (again), benchies are going to be judged with an even bigger pinch of salt than usual. Also, it is going to be harder to effectively acertain which SoC is ACTUALLY faster and not artificially boosted to gain higher scores....sad.
Das why I always say, Nexus FTMFW yes. I wont be caught dead with a device not running plain stock android!

Nvidia / ATI all over again.
Getting caught with their hand in the cookie jar.
Bad samsung, bad!
I enjoyed the stock Nexus experience, most definitely....that said, I can't say that the Galaxy Note 2 has been bad UI wise.
Still hoping to see a Nexus 4 in the flesh to compare. My last Nexus was made by Samsung, so take my view with a pinch of salt till I get my hands on the LG version.
