Feeble CPU

Entry-level phones are usually ranked by the best bang-for-the-buck and the Desire C appears equipped well above the average. The biggest doubt is cast by the single-core 600MHz Cortex A5 processor but running Ice Cream Sandwich right out of the box is a nice way to make amends. This market is all about give and take.

The Desire C is super compact and lightweight for an amazingly comfortable feel in hand. It's still very well put together and oozes the usual HTC quality. Follow us after the break for more on the design and construction.

My brother turned me onto the merits of Google's 'Play Music' app...

It basically gives you the ability to upload 20,000 of your favorite tracks to 'the cloud',
and stream it anywhere...and I mean ANYWHERE that you have a robust wi-fi connection.

Took me about 20 hrs to upload all 2,769 songs from my PC...

Sure enough...I could stream each and every one of those songs from the cloud using the Play Music app...

So you can literally have your music 'with' you wherever you go.
The app will cache songs that you've played by default. This can be turned off.
The app also lets you download any of those songs to your device. You can set whether to download over wi-fi only.

The only restrictions you have is that you can't stream to more than one device at a time.

I overlooked it before, because I didn't appreciate just how BOSS this is.

Besides, they probably have many thousands of users to go after in the US and Europe before they worry about lil ol me.

It will very well work, but you'll quickly burn through your monthly data quota if you decide to use it regularly over 4G.

I will be streaming strictly over wi-fi.

Real strategic move by TSTT just ahead of 4G launch.

I must admit, I didn't see this one coming.
I for one applaud this. Make smartphones more affordable man. You getting top-tier phones on contract
in the US for $299 US. If those carriers could do it, why not TSTT. They have the lion's share of the mobile market anyway.
