Folks... I have a new ROM hoss... and it is PARANOIDANDROID:sunny:

I'm always a bit skeptical of CyanogenMod-based ROMs, because they break a lot of things, but this one made me switch from my current ROM.
One of the key features of this ROM is that it allows seamless switching between 'phone' mode and 'tablet' mode, but that works better on bigger-screen
phones like the Galaxy Note.  I'll let others chime in on how dope that is.  :laughing7:

As for speed and stability: top-notch.  I haven't had a single crash or force-close yet...and believe me, I tested everything.
What I especially like is that you can launch the camera from the lockscreen in under 1 second.  Couldn't do that with my former ROM.
That particular feature is a big deal for me.  You never know when you have to play 'instant-paparazzi'. :laughing7:

GG XDA :icon_thumright:

I just installed Rocket Rom ICS, find it working nice. In terms of "What I especially like is that you can launch the camera from the lockscreen in under 1 second" you could do this with a free app called "Go Locker" lets you customize your lock screens.

Paranoid looks nice though

Yeah it is the best rom I have ever used so far, it really takes advantage of the note screen size.

You could install one of these emulators and then simply get roms from the usual places....

Just set this up on my phone, something every android owner should sign up for in the event the phone is stolen. Allows you to remotely track and wipe your phone. Free.

Sweet.

Wanted something like this. Felt that the stock security was insufficient, coming from a corporate blackberry.

This looks like it will fill the gap nicely.

+1 to you sir

Yeah I posted this since my brother in law was robbed at gunpoint recently. This could have helped him recover his phone or at least wipe his data.

EDIT: If you don't have a Samsung phone you could also try Lookout....

Lookout looks good but at a cost for the premium features

"If you have a premium account, you can remotely lock your tablet or phone to prevent someone from using it, or wipe it to erase all your data in case you have no hope of ever getting it back."

wow, not a norton fan but must admit, that looks most impressive for the fantastic price of $Free95.00

Pity it shows up as incompatible on my Galaxy Nexus. Can't understand why?

Hopefully they will release a version that works with it soon.

Running the LookOut for now (you get a free 14 day trial of the premium features apparently)

After that, may switch to Prey. Which is also free and as arc pointed out in the staff chat, opensource.

AndroidLost is what I use. There is a stupid amount of things you can do with the phone if it is lost. And its free.

I recommend that above all others.

Also, google IO keynote starts in 30 mins!
