As you talking about these, I am pretty happy with my MSI GTX 560, it's seriously a beast and keeps things nice and cool at 35 deg idle and about 61 deg maxb with heavy gaming in BC2 etc.

The card is smaller than my GTX 260 but like almost a whole 2 inches!!! It doesn't make the width of the board, there's still like a inch of space till the edge of the board.

I'm pretty glad with my purchase, would put up pics comparing the two but didn't have time over the busy weekend as I just wanted to fire it up.

If you had your card for a 3 yrs like me and looking to grab an upgrade, the 560s or the new 550s are right there in the sweet spot!!

Also as far as the 550Ti goes all I hadda say is meh, the review provided also suggested 'meh' as their opinion. They said it themselves strongly consider the 6850 instead, talk done.

Another dual-GPU waste of money.

For a whole hundred US LESS, you can get two cards (6950) that will almost outperform this,
and in a year's time you could still sell them two cards for more money than this when
something inevitably faster comes out.

...but I guess some of us must have that 'magical' benchmark score.

A GPU waterblock is ah whol 100+, buyin ah whole extra block for ah second card, negates d difference.

Sinlge Waterblock on Dual GPU, overclocked up d ying yang, is more cost effective for me.
And dat 6990 runing like 2 of my current 5970s, when i done OC dat bitch, dies it dey.

I like the performance of the 2 cards, both amd and nvidia high end. WIll probably lean towards nvidia for my next upgrade because of bad experiences with AMD but definitely that price has to go down before I buy.

How could it be more cost effective if you still have to spend more money to
buy a waterblock to cool the thing?

I'm not being facetious here...that's a serious question, because you can get 2 cards
for a lot less that performs just on par with it.  I fail to see the 'cost effectiveness' here.

After my experience with a dual-GPU card, I can never go back to buying one.  That's just me.

I have a liquid rig, so i going liquid cool regaurdless of 1 or 2 cards.

2 Cards = 2 Waterblocks, so dies 200-300$ for waterblocks.
vs
1 DualGPU card = 1 Waterblock, so 100-150 for block.

So dies money saved right there, also the one card gives more space in d rig, and less heat (but to be honest heat doesnt matter that much with liquid).

Also, 2 cards means, Shipping Fees for 1 Extra box for second card, and shippin fees for 1 extra waterblock. Things starting to add up...

All in all, it cheaper for me on liquid to juss butt 1 Dual GPU and clock d shit out of it.

Also, when reselling gpus, does have to convert it back to air, which means those waterblocks getin fling in ah bin. so dies 2-300$ in waterblocks lost when swappin cards, vs just 1-150$. Periodically swaping ah single Dual GPU much more cost effective for me, dan runing 2 cards.

Also, i had d oposite experience to u, after going 2 Cards, i din want to go back to dat, but 1 Card with 2 GPUs hit d sweetspot for me.

Well, if you already have all the LC components, and all you need to change is the block,
then I can understand that, but then your situation is (kinda) unique.

Price vs performance with these dual-GPU cards just not making sense in the long run.
I always have to come back to resale value.  If you can't get back more than half of
what you paid for it new when you sell it (after about 18 mths), then (in my opinion) you losing out.

And d level i build dat liquid rig last time, dat shit eh changing for ah few years.

When i go new card, and sandy bridge, all d cooling remaining exactly d same. Even d CPU Block. All go hadda change is d GPU Block, doh know why dey doh make ah universal Motherboard for GPUs nah. Cuase its kinda retarded to have 2 8800gtx, ah 4870 X2, and now ah 5970 waterblock in ah draw collecting dust.

Yea tell she to tell AMD stop shaffing we lol. My CPU Waterblock work for d past 2 generations of cpus, all i needed to change, was d mounting plate. Dont see wah so hard to manufacture ah standardize / universal mount system. Cuase d internals of gpu waterblocks rarely change, jus d shape and where u screw d holes .

Tell her to tell amd, PUT SOME BLASTED HIGHER QUALITY FANS in their products. Out of four cards I had, TWO of them had fan issues. They have to do better than that.

Well i eh use ah Fan product in years, but d midrange gpu fans never give me no probs.
But if dey have fan issues, yea, dey need to sort dat shit out.
