I'm not even seeing this game in the Steam store as yet.

Mind telling me how you reach so far as to be 'liking the new handling model'?  :laughing7:

AY, don't set up people with that eh.

The game is not available in our region on Steam 'as yet'.

I tried the same thing you are suggesting here with HAWX 2 and I had to end up almost begging Steam to refund me, because the game would not show up in my games list.

I will wait.  No Steam, no purchase.

NotNice...who is 'they'?  Codemasters?  Steam?

Any official proof of this?

Take care allyuh doh have to hol allyuh head and bawl when one day
allyuh 'out-of-region' copies mysteriously stop working.

Steam doh sleep.

So 'they' will actually region-block/lock a game/franchise that has such a huge
international following as this one?  Waaayyy...this kinda treatment for paying
customers really baffles me yes.  :shakehead:

Ay Ay...look meh boy Skidrow on de corner dey...'AY YO SKID...MY NEW HOSS BOY!!!'  :laughing7:

1) You can officially gift region locked games to other regions. so if u have a partner living in d states, and he decide to gift u bulletstorm, steam cant say jack, its officially allowed  and nothing in they user agreement says otherwise.

2) In order to buy a Region locked game, you have to all of the following:

  a. Do d transaction from a machine with a US public ip, i.e. RDP/Control a machine in d states and do purchasing from there (which i did), or use a US vpn service to get yourself a US IP.
  b. Pay with a US credit card, if you try to use an international CC wiht a US address u will get bull, i actualy got my steam account locked trying that lol. But i got around it and unlock it back. That too long to go through. bottom line, pay with US CC dont try to trick them.

Once you complete both of d above, games will show up just fine. I logged on my steam account on meh partner in d states machine, buy my shit, den log off. I also bought and gifted Bulletstorm, Dirt 3 Pre-order (now released), and SSF4 Arcade Ed Pre-Order. Multiple times and they all work fine, including online play for bulletstorm etc.

D hookup will work as such. You want a game costing 50$, just send 50$ + Paypal Transaction fee (usually around 2$ for dat price) i.e. Send 52$ to my partner Paypal account, and i go loggin and gift d game. Its that simple. If no paypal and you paying wiht cash, something mite be workable.

And wyatt, i eh hold out eh, i msg d men on steam i saw online at d time that i know interested in dirt 3 and let them know d link available. i.e. capt awesome, notnice, phill, redfish. din see arcman around. and i know u dont race :)...cough, noob..*clears throat*

Ok, so first order of business, game has been officially released, hence this thread has been moved to the general gaming section.

Secondly, steam on REAL nonsense. Why do I have to jump through all them hoops to get the damn game when direct 2 drive gives me the game, no fuss, no muss AND for $5.05us cheaper? Obviously steam retardness making them loose real business to their competitors. Their loss. I am NOT jumping through your hoops if your competitor offers me a hoop-free experience, ESPECIALLY if said competitor is offering it at a lower price. Fail.

Thirdly, downloaded my copy on d2d loaded up this morning and as soon as I took off ALL driving assists, we have EPIC WIN folks. I reach to work real late this morning on account of playing the damn thing, reach driver level 2. Done know.

Obviously, it goes without saying that ah going and KILLL dirt later. Usual dirt crew, we REALLLLL doing it this weekend.

And finally, SWEATTTTTTTT!!!

As for purchasing, everything is done via web site. There Comrade, the game spy portal which has a similar interface to Steam with a narrower scope of features. Basically just an interface where you can see all your games whether is steam, d2d or pirate (much like steam I guess, no in-client purchasing). Also has a friend/messaging system. Not sure if you can copy and paste backups like with steam as they give you an actual installer to install your game. I guess i'll test it next time I redo my pc.

On a btw note, I find the graphics are almost identical to dirt 2 in terms of the environments. The car models though seem to be GREATLY improved though. WOW.
