lol @ brother card.

I feel you might be the only person on this forum who could afford his old stuff.

I couldn't see the ad over at this link: http://www.ecaytrade.com/detail.php?id=352649

but I'm sure the prices were astronomical, given the quality of his old gear.

Correct is right Chiney,

Well after promising the wife that i am not going to unpack/play with the sub till the new room is built, as soon as she went on the road this morning i broke that promise  :happy0203:

after taking 2 hours to unpack because of the weight, here it is :awesome::

By isme2003 at 2012-08-11

I then had the bright idea to play this track just to test it  :cowboy:

By isme2003 at 2012-08-11

After 13 seconds into the track as the house and its contents was shaking, i started to here crashing sounds, so i puased the track and started to look around the place  :shakehead:

By isme2003 at 2012-08-11

By isme2003 at 2012-08-11

And that's that, time to start making up my story as to why the ceiling fans are broke and what happend to a few glass and picture frames that fell of tables/walls and broke as well  :shakehead:

13 seconds of happiness, a few months of bitchin and i told you so's  :shakehead:

My ears still ringing and i feel like i have a hang over now, but it was worth it

^^ reminds me of the time i set this up

http://www.klipsch.com/rsw-15-subwoofer

i still have a cut on my hand from cleaning..and the words my sister told me for her shit that fell....

these are the matching towers

http://www.klipsch.com/rf-82-ii-floorstanding-speaker

Center

http://www.klipsch.com/rc-62-ii-center-speaker

Rears

http://www.klipsch.com/rs-52-ii-surround-speaker

Powered by this:

http://usa.yamaha.com/products/audio-visual/aventage/rx-a3010_black_u/?mode=model

The bass from the system when the sub is off is already sub bass ( sub freq.. 30-80hz)
It is mind blowing that towers can sound so good and go so low.. At first I thought I unplugged the wrong rca for the sub signal.

nice new setup, enjoy building your new HT room, your always gonna be getting something new and tweaking, trust me,lol.I spend more time in mines tweaking and putting new stuff than watching movies :(

Since then i've gotten a Klipsch RC52 center channel, which perfectly matches my towers.Logitech Harmony Remote to control everything,Lighting automation control with a lutron maestro IR.Saving to upgrade my projector and screen. Not going 3d,but a very good 1080p one,sub 3k usd range.

Nice setup!,

Yeah man its like a curse, always something to do in it the HT other than watch movies lol,

The JVC-DLAx30 i believe is a sub 3K projector, the JVCs got some of the best black levels, Epson got some pretty descent offering to.

I'm not to sold on the 3D my self, but the PJ I am going with has the ability to do it just in case

lol, I seem to have bitten the bug myself.

The misses resisting the heavy spending though so my modifications will have to be modestly priced.

Also, neighbours already under pressure with my Logitech 5500. imagine if I dropped in a sub like IsMe's lol.

They'll call EMA for my ass.

As mentioned earlier in the thread....the z5500 serves as a mini receiver in my setup. Planning to add a real receiver. Reason being, all my device could then connect via a single hdmi cable. At present I have a number of optical cables in the mix doing audio duty.

It works but makes for some messy cable arrangements and requires a 3 way optical switch when I want 5.1 surround sound from the consoles in particular.

Very reasonably priced but a little on the heavy side so the shipping cost could be out of control.

http://www.amazon.com/Denon-AVR-1312-Channel-Theater-Receiver/dp/B004U403S6/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=OCD1CJVDOB4H&coliid=I2HQYZD24MM87R

Going to take a look around locally to see if there are any decent options.

Heard of a Sony with HDMI but it was out of stock in West Mall.

Recently threw Windows 8 on the HTPC but it shockingly didn't support higher than 1024x768 on my 52" display.

So that fast tracked my plans to replace it with a modern HTPC, one that can double as a living room gaming rig.

More on that later.
