need help choosing a phone
« on: May 03, 2010, 11:19:34 PM »
well guys i was going to get the nokia n97mini but after further reasearch it seems it a bit slow and buggy. Now a iphone freak friend of mine turn me on to the iphone 3gs and i was just about to press add to cart then someone tells me you cant use the apple app store from here(sob i was sooo close to buying it too) is that true btw?

So anyways i need suggestions on a new phone. something that is-
stylish
small
wifi
keyboard
app store(works in trini)
quad band(preferred)
3.5mm head phone jack
email
web browsing
etc

on a side note, does it make sense buying a iphone 3gs to use in trini. I heard it has to be jailbroken or something like that?

I bought an iphone 3G for my girlfriend last year. We have used the apple store to download apps, it works on the phone as well. Also all apps on the app store are available online on pirate sites.

Iphone jailbreaking is also a pretty straightforward process.

i personnaly own an HD2, (check out my benchmark vids for ah peak).

It is quite frankly d best phone u can buy right now.

It looks big, but it is not, d thing thin, and feels very good in my hand, i droped all my previous phones plenty times, i actauly never drop d hd2, it juss fits lol.

If u can afford d HD2, dat is d buy, doh think bout it, jus click add-to-cart, check out, place order!

And since is windows mobile, it highly customizable, u can basicaly do what u want with d phone, check meh mod fuh SPB Mobile Shell here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=567049

(I previously owned d HTC Touch HD, and will be owning d HTC HD3)

The Evo is due soon, basically a clone of the hd2, android version and better specs.

It would be interesting to see how much better they can make this than the aging winmo hd2

yea winmo is old, but i woudlnt opt it for android or iphone os.

Next upgrade is Windows Phone 7, winmo juss too powerful, is like windows on yuh phone = cracks, hacks, crack, and more hacks, lolol.

Any software u want, u cant find it on winmo. and like i say d Windows backgroun juss makes winmo based phones ah powerful device.

If u juss want to make calls,, and send text, den yea, android/iphon coudl be explored

full keyboard and u looking @ the hd2 and iphone...

i say.. if u want it now... go for the touch pro 2 (i have one, it's great, the only thing better in performance of course is the hd2)... or what i would do.. if u could hold out for a bit.. is wait for the keyboard version of the HD2... which should be coming (when watching htc's mo)

If keyboard is what u want, HTC Touch Pro 2, if u want more power, bigger screen, etc etc, HD2.

You're not going to see a new WinMo based HTC device in the next 2 weeks lol.
Also, phoenix said u can hold out for the keyboard version of the HD2, but given that Windows Phone 7 is going to debut in 6 months, i dont think you will see another high end htc windows mobile device until that time.

So if u waiting, wait til christmas and get ah windows phone 7 device, if u not waiting, Touch Pro 2 or HD2

ok kiya is like this, wait, are ur female? (sounds like quark from startrek lolol), anyways. D Evo 4g is basicaly an HD2 with ah kickstand paired with Android as d OS.

So it boils down to what OS u want, if u choosing between HD2 and Evo.

I have a sweet tooth for windows mobile, so id take d hd2 reguardles.
Checkout d android OS and see what u think, and let that help guide u.

but the EVO 4G is ah beastly device reguardless. id still choose HD2 :)
