dude I watched the Pop Block 3 TIMES that was NOT an Airport that was a Lab. the scene you might be referring to with all the explosions an shite must have been a Firebase that was overrun by VC/NVA troops in Vietnam or is an actual NVA base that is being blasted from the air.

Ah yes...thank you Treyarch for giving me a reason to save $500.00 TT (or less)

All that's needed now are the system requirements but COD usually don't need much anyway

Just a quick question... won't this game also be 'just a console port' ? with no dedicated servers (though this point is SOOO moot), no lean, 100ms ping, etc etc etc... ? *Looks at Reapers*

Quote
Four-player co-op is confirmed.

You'll play at least two characters in multiple international conflicts.

American and Russian black operatives have been consulted. Given the above points, we reckon that means you might play on both sides of the conflict

Exact setting  dates haven't been revealed, but the game will play out over a long period of history.

As black ops teams were privy to superior intelligence and had free access to any equipmenent they wanted, weapons and ammo will be more varied this time around. A military crossbow has been confirmed so far, but it's not just for sniping. CoD:BO (unfortunately aromatic acronym) allows on-the-fly ammo changes for some of its
weapons, so the bow can also be fitted out with exploding arrows.

There's also an AUG  assault rifle that will take multiple attachments.

The SR-71 Blackbird is the new AC-130. During one level, the recon plane is used to observe terrain from above, with the player directing the squad below with a pointer in order to help them avoid enemy Russian convoys. Immediately after this, you'll take control of the squad on the ground.

Treyarch head Mark Lamia has said that the game is 'epic in scope', being focused around a story that 'has meaning and character and will be multi-threaded'. Perhaps more of an indication that Treyarch will be giving the Cold War an ambiguous, mutli-sided treatment?

CoD: BO is using the same full-actor motion-capture technology as Avatar. That means that not just gestures, but whole performances are captured, right down to facial expressions and line delivery. Expect some serious emoting this time around.

It looks like Treyarch is following Modern Warfare's lead in terms of big action movie set-pieces. Cliff-diving and rappelling through windows are already in.

YESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now just to hear word of servers an mod tools an the lean feature and then im SOLD FOR SURE!!!! BLACK OPS HERE I COME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First impressions: 'Call of Duty: Black Ops'

Call of Duty has always been about the soldiers in the trenches, so it's interesting that the level of Call of Duty: Black Ops showcased by Activision and studio Treyarch kicks off with an operative leading colleagues from up above.

Hovering above from inside an SR-71 Blackbird, players will send orders guiding a group of four soldiers past a convoy of Russians in the Ural Mountains. They simply point to areas on the screen and hit a button to lead the squad, so don't expect a complexity of, say, a Ghost Recon. But, similar to the view above an AC-130 gunship in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, the SR-71 scenario offered a fascinating perspective of the battlefield.

Of course, this is still a Call of Duty title, and once that brief command-based sequence concluded, the story shifts back to the soldier on the ground, as he and his three colleagues attempt to infiltrate a Russian facility.

The name of the level, "WMD," is set in 1968, during the height of the Cold War. The players' character is part of a larger endeavor to stop the spread of Communism. As the foursome moves through the facility, they come to a relay station they must take out. One by one, players will pick off unsuspecting foes with a scoped crossbow. Similar to previous Call of Duty titles, players will click to hold their breath and fire away.

This is when we check out one of the franchise's new features: alternate ammo that can be changed on the fly. As the group gets closer, they find an area with at least a dozen enemy soldiers, two of which sit by a truck. The lead character switches from a standard arrow tip on his crossbow to an explosive tip. Once fired, a beacon flashes for a couple seconds and boom goes the enemy. The lead character would eventually switch to an AUG assault rifle that could house attachments, although none were available during this level.

The firefight that ensues is textbook Call of Duty. Chaos dominates as players must navigate streams of bullets to reach their destination. Black Ops seems to follow the footsteps of the Modern Warfare franchise in attempting to deliver a more cinematic presentation, with the team ending the "WMD" level diving off a large cliff.

Overall, the level seemed to deliver the intensity and explosiveness of previous Call of Duty titles, and the SR-71 section left me wondering what other surprises Treyarch might have in store for Black Ops.

WHO SAY YOU CANT HAVE THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS!!!! THANK YOU TREYARCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CoD: Black Ops Will Have Dedicated Servers, Controllable Vehicles

Treyarch head confirms that the PC version won't use peer-to-peer matchmaking.

By Kris Pigna, 05/14/2010

Infinity Ward spawned one of the bigger controversies in gaming last year when they announced the PC version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 would use peer-to-peer matchmaking in lieu of traditional dedicated servers. That's a history that won't be repeating itself with Call of Duty: Black Ops, though, as Treyarch president Mark Lamia has confirmed they're sticking with dedicated servers.

"I think dedicated servers are excellent. I don't see any reason not to see them unless... well, I just don't see any reason not to," Lamia said to PC Zone magazine (via CVG). "It seems people like them and we're excited about what we're doing right now."

Even still, Lamia also said they're working on bringing some of the console matchmaking features to their dedicated servers, while maintaining the customizable nature of the dedicated server experience. "We do work very hard to reconcile the desire to manipulate and modify those dedicated servers with offering them the persistent experience and benefits that the console system provides," Lamia said. "We're working very hard to marry those two things, so people can run dedicated servers and also participate in the communal experience the console players get to have, given they're all on first-party servers."

Meanwhile, CVG also reports that a new Black Ops preview in the Official Xbox Magazine reveals the game won't just have vehicles the player rides in, but can control entirely. This apparently includes the SR-71 Blackbird we've previously heard about (and which was previously unclear whether it was entirely in the player's control or not), as well as helicopters that the mag "stresses" are fully controllable, which will even provide helicopter-vs-hellicopter air battles.

Call of Duty: Black Ops is launching on the PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii on November 9.

Nice move, p2p for normal matches, dedicated for the larger battles, that would be ideal on the console side, PC, well I guess they could do the same or just stay dedicated altogether (*W1nTry watches reaper turn up his nose at notion*) XD.

Treyarch understands what players want an they decided that there was nothing wrong with Dedicated Servers so they keep them WHILE testing out some of the matchmaking features from console its something those idiots at Infinity Ward decided NOT to do.

I also found somewhere on the web that a group of high tech group named Team DX Coders found some leaked beta codes for Black Ops an the beta hasnt even been announced yet.
