FS: ATI TV Wonder HD 650 TV Tuner (PCI Version) - $250
« on: April 26, 2010, 04:46:26 PM »
As the topic states, I have an ATI tuner for sale, PCI version like in the pic below. Works flawlessly under all Microsoft operating systems (ran it on XP MCE 2005, Vista and Windows 7) Comes with remote, and original packaging and contents.

Reason for sale: I need the extra space in my tower for other things :D

Asking price: $250 - Reply here or PM me if interested.

Im interested in getting a replacement for my mother's tv tuner as the connector is broken so the coax cable can no longer be properly fastened, however the price and interface of this unit (mostly the former) is a dealbreaker.

nice, installing now.

pity about the broken remote but would you believe I found an old ATI Wonder remote while I was moving?

have absolutely no clue where it came from. (don't recall ever owning an ATI Wonder card)

either way, all I need is the receiver to test it. You still got that?

cool

I set it up last night, working boss.

Had to use ChrisTV Tuner application with it though as the AMD Live Entertainment tuner app won't run on Intel processors.

Stupid thing says an AMD processor is required. How ridiculous.

It worked alright in Windows Media Center but I didn't realize there was no option to disable its PVR features. WMTC?!?

That means watching TV has your hard drive going berzerk recording and buffering live TV.

Pausing and rewinding TV is cool and all but I really don't want the hard drive under that kinda pressure and the time delay.

Not to mention, it makes the Flow Guide totally unresponsive since you're no longer watching Live TV. You press the Guide button and like 30 seconds later, it pops up.

No such issue with ChrisTV. Runs like a dream, very responsive and the images is actually cleaner and without jitter when compared to Media Center.

Might be helpful for anyone else out there trying to run an ATI TV tuner in Win 7 on an intel box.
