FS: XFX HD 5850 (Brand new, still in box)
« on: April 17, 2010, 11:44:32 PM »
A while ago, I posted my faulty XFX 9800GX2 for next to nothing because 1 of the GPUs had failed. Well I sent it back to XFX and got it replaced with an HD 5850!!! Yay!!!

They were initially offering an HD 4890 as the replacement but I decided to pay an extra $100US for this one. I was going to keep it, but I decided to sell and go for an HD 5870.

Its brand new, untouched, plastic wrapping still on it and everything.

That's one hell of a card. Cant imagine why you'll want to sell it.

well, i was torn between either keeping the 5850 and buying a second one soon after or selling it and my present card, buying a 5870,

then a second one maybe 3-5 months from now. seeing as there's already 2 men on the site with Crossfire 5850s, i didn't want to make it 3. :happy0203:

but i'm reconsidering and might just go with choice number 1.

Someone show me the memo where it says that only those two men are allowed to have Crossfire 5850s. :)

I think the smarter thing to do would have been to sell the 4870 X2, and get another 5850.
I wonder though...can your current mobo even DO Crossfire?

I didn't say only 2 men allowed to have crossfire 5850. what i meant was that i didn't want to become 'man #3'.

i wanted to come out big an mush up even de men wit deh 5970s (after some other upgrades of course ).

but i have to study money too eh. my plan was to indeed sell the 4870X2 and buy a second card.

and BTW, what mobo u feel i runnin here mister? is no jokey man ting i have u kno. but i never.
