Shiv any idea if Activision filming the worldwide launch? It'd be pretty sweet to have a launch documentary for this in a week to 2 weeks time.
According to CVG, French site TFI News reports that a couple of masked hooligans stole 6,000 video game copies from a delivery truck in Creteil, south Paris early Saturday. Are people this desperate to get a hold of video games early? The TFI report describes that two men wearing masks and armed with knives crashed into the delivery van around 8 AM, used tear gas to subdue the drivers, then took control of the vehicle and made off with about 400,000 Euros worth of gaming software–which according to ultimateps3.fr (citing the AFP and france-info.com, with no links), was all copies of Modern Warfare 3.This sounds like the beginning of a Bond movie, except we’re dealing with video games and not precious jewelry or military technology. 400k Euros comes out to $551,080.00 US, Google tells me. If we see thousands of cheap MW3 copies up on eBay in the next few days, we know why. Also of note–numerous sites (including CVG) are reporting that playing a legal copy of MW3 ahead of release could get you banned, which is false. Xbox Live Director of Policy and Enforcement Stephen Toulouse originally tweeted to that effect, but he changed his tune on Friday after Robert Bowling went on GameSpot and reversed that assertion.Quotehttp://www.gamefront.com/6000-copies-of-modern-warfare-3-stolen-in-truck-heist//quote]

I'll really have to give it to Activision...again. Their marketing machinery is unlike anything now or since, well, whenever. They could make Eskimos buy ice yes.
