I only now start watchin Band of Brothers. This thread reminded me that i had to watch it. I'll take in this series once i'm through wit the other. now reach episode 4.

if you thought Why We Fight was the cornerstone of Band of Brothers then Okinawa in The Pacific is the equivalent to that episode.

EP 9 was really good , very visceral and emotional , this series definately surpasses band of brothers in some aspects but i think it doesnt match BoB in others due to the source material , the war in europe had more epic battles , in the pacific i guess it was less about amazing stategy turning the tide of a battle and more about surviving the elements and being  worn down gradually by the conflict.

Yo wyatt just have some patience...episode 10 (the fianl episode) is coming out this Sunday. So you can download all of them in one bundle. It's really worth the watch...best show since 24 and Band of Brothers....at least for the last 10 years lol

Just finished part 10. Nice ending to the series. Very emotional. The score playing in the end where they show what happened to the guys was just beautiful. It's been one hell of a journey.

I liked the last episode it was nice. Overall this series was on par with Band of Brothers. Very excellent series that should not be overlooked. Hope Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg produce something soon!

I was thinking bout that when I was watching the last episode but the question is what conflict with they do next? Korea? Odin forbid that they would touch Vietnam (we already had the series Tour of Duty) and its a slight possibility they may take on the 1991 Gulf War. It all depends.

Korea is the next logical step  assuming  they exhausted WWII stories to be told ,... a bit of research on the korean war reveals it to be quite a hellish conflict :

ok, this series had me worried from episode two through four.

was really beginning to think guys on this forum gone soft, as that was the most tepid war presentation I'd seen in sometime.

What was all the fuss about?

but then Episode 5 rolled around and got damn! Battlefield Bad Company 2 iwmc.

Episode 6 and 7 continued the same frenetic pace. Is like they change directors mid series or something.

Jump from a 4/10 to a 8/10 rating yes.

Can't wait to watch the rest tomorrow.

Either way, being a true story and all, won't detract too many points.
