Well  I had to stop myself last night from playing God of War 3 otherwise I wouldn't be able to wake up to go to work this morning. This game really impresses visually, so much so that its hard to believe that its all in game. The main thing I noticed is the level of AA in this game. As anyone who owns both a PS3 and Xbox 360 will know the PS3 version of most games has more jaggies. This is because of the performance loss from using the MSAA or when using the less performance demanding Quincunx AA which cause the image to be blurred a bit (e.g. RE5 on PS3 its plain to see the loss in texture quality between the PS3 version).

I was actually so impressed with how they implemented the AA in this game while still keeping framerate up, texture quality high, push the dam high number of polygons so I went online to check if anyone else was wondering the same. I found the following. I guess it should be posted in the PS3 thread as well.

Apparently a game that came out last year on the PS3 Saboteur uses a new method of AA by running it on one of the SPUs freeing up the RSX graphics chip. It seems to have pretty impressive results, with the method allowing for up to 16X AA. God of War 3 uses a modified version of this to implement AA. The articles below give more detail. It does say that this method will not work on games with high luminance but perhaps in the future new modified versions can fix this. Hopefully this means an end to PS3 AA problems.

Astronaut 1: Brother, I can't seem to open this milk carton.

Astronaut 2: In space, no one can. Here, use cream.

great game. graphics were pretty good. i still think uncharted 2 looks better as there are many poor textures scattered throughout GOW3. really enjoyed the boss fights except the last part with zeus that just went on for too long. as for the people that saying it has no replay value i think they are wrong. it's so good that you want to go back! trying to beat it on titan mode now.

well I'm not that good at it so I have to play through on normal because the last bosses in the GOW series tend to be hard for me. Tried the here thing in GOW1 and got stuck right at the end.

heh...I's seen the "Do you want to lower difficulty" screen alot...
Game can be intense.

Great so far....and ZOMG @ Titan battle in Hell. (Can't believe PS3 was processing that scale of battle at game start and said Titan fight. =O)

I just "entertained" Aphrodite....how long again is the game from there?

I just finished the game.. I simply in shock and awe from that ending sequence.
I missed one gorgon eye and one horn...steups :(
If I start a Titan Mode Save file and play the game, all the unlocks carry over? Or do I have to find every damn horn, feather and gorgon eye again o_O. and will all the weapons remained maxed out from first playthrough?

I would check it for myself but I can't right now specially as it takes pretty long to get to that point of "knowing" from the game start.

you have to get everything again and try to get everything cuz that battle before zeus is a pain on titan. i reach zeus last night after a couple of hours trying to kill 4 enemies!

Finally beat the game on Titan thanks to some advice from zenmaster. That fight with the Cereberus and the Satyrs is extremely difficult.
