I've finally watched through the whole of that last vid... DEFINITELY a console port. Prolly on a dev kit. A and B for captures, some VERY flat objects, lighting on gun... reflections toned down...
That aside, yeah @ redlum... where de love? lol

Video doesnt do the game justice boy win. When the beta comes out you'll see.

+1 to Redlum and Berserk who so graciously shared their alpha key so that a lot of us can share in the experience. Props to you both.

If i'm reading that right, it looks as though you're not actually going to get the whole map as seen on pc with the console. Is that a fair assumption?

Well he did say "compact them slightly to keep the action up..." so you may be right. The intention maybe is to not have too big of a map for the 24player(max) cap on the consoles.

Must admit though, the BIG maps on BF:BC2 were a pain in the toosh to get from one end to the other, so probably it's for the better.

YES. maps need to be smaller for that player count. cant be spending more time running than shooting

"More or less. When we say they are smaller, it's not that we have cut them in half. But we tried to compact them slightly to keep the action up. If you compare it to Battlefield: Bad Company 2, the maps weren't really small on console. We actually had huge maps even for console. We have the same kind of angle on it right now [in Battlefield 3].

those 2 lines worry me
"try" and sayin they have the same kind of angle for bf3
maps for consoles NEED to be made with 24 in mind
the maps for BC2 felt like it was more suited for 40 players
