lol @ parent of 3.

pressure @ snipers spoiling the fun. I'm a run and gunner myself and had quite a taste of men honey pottin' in the beta. steups @ long range pwners.

Well keep the info flowing, by month end you guys will let me know if its still worth ponying up the $$ for this one or taking a pass.

I dont mind the snipers. Now and then I like to snipe myself and take down those mofos. The maps are fun, gameplay is fun. Campers overdo it sometimes and you die a little too easily even in non hardcore mode but even that I can live with. There is one absolutely critical element that is missing (for me) and that is a proper ranking system.

Without a proper ranking system where in the score menu everybody could see, I feel no desire to play this game, no where near how I WANTED to come home and play BC2 just so I can reach level 50. Will being lvl 50 get me any chicks or give me a pay bump? No, but its all about the bragging rights.

One set of work capping flag and destroying objective and your reward is loss of points??? On that principle alone I want back meh money.

Sadly, after less than 2 weeks of play, im going to have to take back my "Awesome Approved" rating.  I have officially lost interest.

how does the skill rating work?
it actually sounds interesting
kinda like how halo 3, socom and uncharted 2 had a skill rating that went up an down depending on how u do which gave more incentive for ppl who wanna raise that rating to win games and by winning games means u would actually need to play as a team

those kinda ranking systems to me are better and more enjoyable as u know u have to consistently perform to raise in rank and not play like ass and still get rewarded
more games need a ranking system that rewards skill and not how many hours u logged in or at least go the safe route like uncharted and implement both

is the ranking system like that?

if the game didnt have so much faults i could have seen myself gettin into a game like this

I honestly dont know how it works. I realll capturing flags and placing third sometimes and loosing points.

Other times I come way down and gain points. It is not consistent at all, no discernible patters. Fail.

hmmm.......strange
maybe it based on how ur team do and not the individual?
the games u dropped points was it a loss?

cuz i know in u2 i could beast it up an still lose rank because my teammates sucked an we lost bad

especially losing to lower ranked opponents would cause us to drop after a loss

It is not a problem with the game itself... when we were in development I specifically told the team to add a line of code pertaining to anyone with cpt., captain or awesome in their name.  It had to be done what kinda person go put Awesome in their name, just ridiculous.  Instant deduction on points when any of those names are found, whats done is done.

its a team game, gotta expect that when u play with randoms which is why i play in a grp constantly so we can properly control the outcome and wont have BobbyJoe over there tryin to spawn camp for points instead of securing the win

remember the old sayin there is no 'I' in 'Team'

it actually is a good system, it would promote PROPER teamplay and not point whoring
which is how it should be

god knows if cod had a decent rankin system all the bs u does be seeing takin place and excessive campin go end

the ranking system in those type of games in no way shape or form promote teamplay
they promote selfish play with ppl only studyin about themselves and not the team
and rewards selfish players

Ay, for $5000 TT you can build a pretty capable gaming PC eh.  It won't win any benchmarking
contests, but it WILL play every game out there at medium to high settings with aplomb.
