Asus 1215N

- Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium
- Display: 12.1-inch LED-Backlit WXGA display (1366 x 768)
- CPU: Intel Atom D525 dual-core processor (1.8 GHz)
- GPU: Next-Generation NVIDIA ION graphics with NVIDIA Optimus Technology
- Wireless Data Network: WLAN 802.11b/g/n (@ 2.4GHz)
- Memory: 2GB DDR3, 1 x SODIMM slot (expandable to 4GB)
- Storage: 250GB 5400RPm hard drive + 500GB ASUS WebStorage
- Camera: 0.3 megapixel  with security lens cover
- Audio: Hi-definition stereo speakers, high-definition audio CODEC, Microphone
- Storage Cards: 2-in-1 MMC, SD(SDHC) flash card slot
- Input / Output: 1 x VGA port (D-sub 15-pin for external monitor), 1 x HDMI, 3 x USB 2.0 ports, 1 x LAN RJ-45, 2 x audio jacks (Headphone & Mic-in)
- Battery Pack: 6 cell battery (up to 7 hours)
- Dimensions: 11.54 (W) x 8.11 (D) x 1.06~ 1.30 (H) inches
- Weight: 3.22 lbs

Highlighted the important bits.

According to all the reviews...a rather solid package for under $500 US.
Can't wait to try out that LED display for myself.

Of course, I'll eventually upgrade the RAM and fling Windows 7 x64 on it,
but for now, I'll leave it as is.

The one drawback: no bluetooth, but that's not that big of a problem.  There are adapters.
Strange of Asus not to include it though.  Should be easily upgradeable.

Got this for $35 at Best Buy yesterday, not that I needed another arcade stick but at that price it was too good to pass up. Not bad for a bundle that was $150 last year :D

Oh you bet yo sweet azz it is.  :laughing7:

Couldn't afford a full-size notebook, nor did I want one anyway.
I think this model hit the sweet spot in terms of size, price, and performance.

Not to mention, some killer specs too (well, for a netbook at least).

Arc, nice little netbook there. Sorry to rain on your parade though but im seeing some reports that the cpu, while 64bit can only do 32bit memory addressing even with x64 windows. Looks like even if your put 4gb in there you'll only see 2.7gigs out of it.

Bummer, I *nearly* went to buy one.

Not according to the Eee PC forums.  In any case...the RAM for this is rather cheap,
so it's not like I'll be losing  anything by going 64-bit.

So it occurred to me that I have...a lot...of expensive shit in my room (located at a house in an undisclosed location). What if a certain element was to get the bright idea one day to distress my stuff while im out, (which has happened before) blissfully ignorant of the fact that my stuff is being pilfered by a thieving bastard.

So I ordered this little baby which has a nice long spec list including pan AND tilt, wireless operation, remote viewing (also possible through your phone!) as well as motion detection which can trigger a number of actions including capturing images and shooting it off to a ftp server or your email.

Yea yuh ole tief, smile for the camera biatch, youre going downnnn!

The Purchase:

2 of Wix Cabin Air Filter ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000RDLBG2 )

Cost: US$18 each

Why: to replace the filthy one in my car (like it never change since it leave Japan factory!), and I'm not handing Neal & Massy TT$566 for an OEM filter.
I had to measure the filter size to get a size that matched most closely to the current one

You have more discipline than me.

I SOLD my video card Christmas gone just to ensure I would not get distracted from my upcoming exams.

My recent purchase:

Ebags Downloader backpack

http://www.ebags.com/product/ebags/downloader-laptop-backpack/15025

For me this is the ULTIMATE backpack that every freelance IT Guy should have. This is the third one I've bought in the last 7 years.

So many useful features, nooks and crannies to store stuff in. Will hold laptops up to 15" in size

(and if it too small for you, there's the ebags macroloader )

God is dead.
