AVG scans totally wtfpwns my PC. I have to schedule that mofo to run at 2AM in the morning, to avoid it dropping frames during prime gaming hours.

If this runs as efficient as they say, they'll earn a permanent spot on my HD.

Could always run the odd scan with other apps to ensure nothing's sneaked on the PC due to lax security.

AVG isn't the all end all though, had a friend running it religiously until malware hit his PC HARD. He doesn't visit questionable sites or anything of the sort and AVG didn't stop whatever it was from doing damage. Also i've found AVG scanning to be quite resource intensive esp on older PCs.

Avast Free and malwarebytes antimalware ftw. That malwarebytes does root out spyware and malware better than Sam Winchester could exorcise a demon when high on demon blood.

@ w1ntry.....agreed....resource intensive when scanning isn't the word! That said its free and clean cut...like a soldier. Not many other free antivirus apps can boast that. Personally run it and recommend to customers for that reason. Very few run into problems with it. Ain't perfect but definitely "good enough".

@ awesome, yeah malware bytes is the healing. Hasn't failed me yet for dealing with pests that slip past avg and spybot.

Agreed.

Avast does it well for many of my clients, since I've found that AVG was letting stuff in. (not to mention, the new version features a nag screen to go "Pro")

On the work-end, we've got Symantec Endpoint Protection and that, my friends, just works, totally redesigned so it doesn't bog down the machine, integrated Antispyware + Firewall... nice, real nice.

i sneakin up on people and random random jumpkikin dem in dey face for makin me hadda scan dere machines with malware bytes.

Endpoint does a good job of reminding the user OVER AND OVER that a trojan or virus was detected.... which i in tern, have to hear from the user OVER AND OVER. Soooo malware bytes the machine. Voila, no more nuisance. The reports from Endpoint are top notch though, ill give them that.
