Yes...that Ax Pro is meh dream headset.  The thing actually needs TWO ADAPTERS to work properly
when its hooked up to a console, but I don't think you'll find a more comprehensive audio solution in a headset.

I have the Ax 360 and it worked great, until the headset broke, but the optical converter still does
yeoman service with this baby.

yea that TWO ADAPTERS is pain but if yuh doh move around yuh console much like myself then it shouldnt be too much of a problem lol

ever  check out the Astros A40 + Mixamp
very expensive imo but i hear its very good

http://www.astrogaming.com/products/detail/12/Audio-Systems/
the thing with this 1 is it doesnt work with ps3 str8 out d box u gotta buy an additional usb adapter for around $10US i think.

this 1 good if you do LAN Parties with ur 360 since u can chain 4 of them together.
"Combine multiple A40 MixAmps and you'll be provided a private, hands-free, full-duplex voice communication channel -- much higher-quality than VoIP systems, with zero network and system lag."

dunno if yuh cud do that with the Ax Pro.

My GOD...I think I've found my new dream headset.

+1 bro

For it to work with the PS3 though, you'll need one of these for mic input.
I have one, and it works flawlessly.

You won't need it with the AX Pro though, because it comes with its own USB 'soundcard' for the PS3.

US$250 for a headset? and that is without the extras???

alyuh mad!

That is more expensive than a Wii, almost same price as a PS3 and definitely more expensive than an ATI 4870 1GB video card.

You know how far US$250 can go in terms of gaming goodness?

Which is why i said 'dream'.
I certainly wouldn't spend that kinda money now, on that.

I'd quicker buy a new mobo or CPU for $250 US.

Still, a man must have his dreams.

well i bought these babies as a christmas present for myself, though not as expensive, they made quite the difference in quality, to the crap headphones i used before.

http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-M50-Monitor-Headphones-Standard/dp/B000UVGI6O/ref=sr_1_95?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1251070395&sr=1-95

Sound makes a huge difference in the gaming/music/movie experience. Never thought the difference could be so signifigant...

recently my sister seems to have permanently 'borrowed' it though... :bother:

I use a Turtle Beach 5.1 headset for my Xbox, but hear what, you can use a regular-azz
cellphone headset with a 2.5 mm jack.  Just make sure in your console's voice chat settings
you select 'play through both' for voice output.  You can then plug the cellphone headset into
your controller and just use the mic on it.

Found that out just by accident, and was overjoyed to find out that it WORKS.
Just get any ol cheap-azz headset, and yuh good to go.

Ahh... that's a really good happenstance arc! chakra for you!!!

Perhaps I could use my logitech headset and get a 2.5mm-mini-stereo adapter and that should solve it all?

I use the Tritton AX360. Great Headset by the way. To solve the chat hearing problem all i did was just lower the in game volume settings in my preffered games, and then i was good to go.

I think 9.1 surround sound for gaming is overkill. A good 5.1 headset can make you a more proficient gamer. The Ax series are worth every cent.

I agree, I have my Z5500's hooked up to my 55" plasma and it works great with the TV and my gaming systems for 5.1 Surround Sound Computer Speakers. They serve their purpose which is to enhance the entertainment experience and unless you have another pair of ears, 9.1 surround sound won't be worth it....
