Guys time for me to upgrade.I am going with AMD  Phenom II X4 940 Black Edition  but i do not know what Mobo to get .
The only mobo i see is the MSI K9N2 SLI Platinum nVidia nForce 750a SLI,But is it good?
Can anyone recommend me a good SLI mobo.

when you say, the MSI mobo is the only one you see, do you mean locally or is it the only one that supports the PII x940 it.

I just took a liking to Asrock and their motherboards. I am currently using the Asrock A780GHM. They have AM2+ and AM3 boards that utilize the new sb750 chipset.
check them  out http://www.asrock.com/mb/index.asp

Also you can never go wrong with Asus or GIGABYTE mobo, check newegg to reference a board to your liking then look for a suitable e-retailer to order. Its what i did

Look no further than motherboards featuring the Nvidia NForce 780a SLI chipset.
In particular, the Asus M3N-HT Deluxe...

Supports all the latest Phenom II CPUs (with the latest BIOS), and does 3-way SLI.
DDR2 RAM compatible as well, so no need to look for DDR3 just yet.

...and yes, its available on Amazon.

I think that board will do very nicely.

Arcman that mobo is a little out of my price range. But i will think about it.

I only got like $3000 to spend on the upgrade,Which i still have to get a power supply,A new HDD.

Then how about this one then...

Asus M3N72-D

Considerably cheaper too, and it will support Phenom IIs as well, while retaining DDR2 and SLI support.
You may not get a board of this quality, with the features you want, for much cheaper than that.

Thanks but it is not an up to date list.

Anyone know if it is cheaper to import and PSU?

Ok sorry about that outdated thing...

It depends, my corsair TX750watt caost me about 850TTD to get it in hand. Brought it in from amazon.

Locally I think they might be a lil higher in the 1000-1200TTD range but as I said it depends on what PSU you want to get.

Look online at the prices of good PSUs in newegg or something and then call around pc stores for similar PSUs and compare for yourself....

Haven't we answered this PSU question already?

600W PSUs are fine for low power SLI, i.e. using cards that require ONE PCIE connector each.
For cards that use TWO PCIE connectors EACH, you need at least a 700W PSU with at least 50-60 amps
TOTAL across ALL 12V+ rails.

For example...

The PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750W

Check the specs here.

Or as Redfish suggested, the Corsair TX750W

It may be cheaper to import, but if you can get one here, you will have your warranty.  It'll cost you though.

Honestly, I prefer to be ahead of the power curve, so a 800-850W PSU is what I would use.

Not knowing how much it might cost to import one,i might try to find one down here.

Right now i am running sli on a Thermaltake Pure Power 500 Watt Power Supply  but the cpu i have is to slow for sli to work at it's best  that's why i am getting a AMD Quadcore. Only got like $700 left to buy a PSU.
