Actually, wireless internet is pretty old news...Carib-link been doing it for quite a while, there's also Rave and another not-so-well-known company from Panama called Broadband Wireless.

We were fortunate to be "beta testers" for Broadband Wireless as well as Carib-link, we almost even tried out Rave but then decided on TSTT ADSL...to be honest, the speeds you got etc were pretty damn good at times, could easily see 50kb/s and upwards, but at other times...it was just plain horrible. Our personal experience is that wireless connectivity is just too off and on for our needs and until they can get it to a more reliable state, it simply isn't worth it.

WINTEL tried to interest us in their solutions, but it looked to be the same story as with Broadband Wireless (they were using the same equipment, same manufacturer even) so we didn't bother. We've stuck with TSTT ADSL ever since. Can't say that I've been overly thrilled lately, it's been pathetic the last month and a half or so, so coincidental that they've been in salary negotiations...but alas, even now that they have agreed to something, the speeds etc still aren't what they used to be 2 months ago.

btw, this is prolly not the best forum for this topic. Tho there is no clear cut place for it, it might be best suited in the Hardware forum I suppose. Beats me.

i wouldnt like the wireless internet access unless it was a real reasonable price like $400... cause dsl and dial up prices are rediculous... well atleast tstt's prices... and i mean oh gosh... dsl in de states does be real fass an real cheep.... down here dsl relatively slow and expensive... cable too. i man want year 2005 to come real fass so freetrade go open up and manning and he dotish self cyar keep foreign companies in a black list. wen freetrade open up down here... das it, everyting go get cheep, tstt go never have ANY problems... and dey services go get cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep... dey might even get bankrupt wit de shit dem doin. ahhhh... i just cant wait till 2005

Wireless internet is an option for people who can't get DSL. It isn't available everywhere, so at least there is hope for some people wanting more than dial up access.

DSL kicks ass. The other options are not up to scratch.

Especially for online gaming.

Cable could make for one helluva a local gaming network, but alas, they seemed to have dropped the ball on that project.

It's no scam, I can assure you, they are a legitimate business. Though, considering that they're using the same Nomad Ripwave Wireless System as one of their competitors, I fail to see the benefit of their service, unless it is considerably cheaper, which I doubt. So I agree, I'll stick to TSTT ADSL.

PS. IS YOUR CAPS LOCK STUCK RONNIE2.0?
