I've actually looked through a few more reviews and it does seem like the right card at the right price point. I expect DAAMIT to lower prices to address this nvidia march, and with their new tech due out for xmas well, this may be too little too late. Still driving prices donw is ALWAYS welcomed. 1 thing I find disappointing (someone like crixx won't find it) is that there is still NO Xfire support on AMD chipsets, only Intel has the roost of Xfire/SLI on the SAME hardware. I'd venture to BET that it's a damn software switch to enable SLI on a Xfire mobo, but I guess nvidia is still clinging to that ever so tiny and ever decreasing mobo chipset market they think they have.... if they were to open it to all platforms it'd be more power to their cards, as it stands noone in their right mind buys an outdated nvidia chipset on the AMD platform to support SLI, they just buy AMD and go Xfire with ATI... sad as I have NO reason to switch to an Nvidia card, were SLI supported I WOULD consider it...

Not to be outdone by err... ITSELF... Asus has created a new monster... (for those that didn't check they have a 3 slot DUAL 5870 - NO NOT A 5970 but rather 2x5870 in a single package but AT FULL SPEEDS vs the 5970). This new monster undoubtedly will be the fastest single packaged solution on earth (for its time). Without further adew, I present the Dual GTX480 (yeah yuh read right, 2 GTX 480 on 1 PCB):

imo those things are just for show and collectors...

"2 5870" gpus on one board has essentially been done with the HD5970... which is like half the price.. and better performing when u actually run it at the speeds it was meant to be run...

they get a pass for the dual 480's since it hasnt been done before

Oh lawd...that is THREE 8-pin power connectors I seeing there?

The top-end Fermi was already a power hog.  That beast will require a 1000W PSU minimum.
Anything less is just begging for trouble.

I guess that card is for the 'money is no object' crowd.

apparantly Nvidia is making a loss financially  , maybe its from selling those huge fermi chips at competitive prices?
